How the Kirby: Triple Deluxe Name Came to be on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Shinya Kumazaki, director for Kirby: Triple Deluxe, took to Miiverse to reveal the meaning behind the name.

To celebrate the game's first-year anniversary in North America, Kumazaki shared some backstory on how the game's localised name came to be. 

The team had been pondering various ideas, including using the letter "X", as Kirby: Triple Deluxe would have been the tenth main title in the series. There was also a need to highlight the 3DS' functionality, so  the term "3DX" brought together he different requirements - essentially forging the subtitle, "Triple Deluxe."
