Yooka-Laylee Breaks Kickstarter Records on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Yooka-Laylee has broken new funding records on Kickstarter - the fastest game to reach $1,000,000.

The project, devised by the talent behind the first two Banjo-Kazooie titles and Donkey Kong Country, is making waves on the crowdfunding platform, having secured an initial target of $175,000 within just 40 minutes of the campaign going live.

According to data supplied by Kickstarter, the Yooka-Laylee campaign reached the equivalent of a million dollars in just 5 hours, 41 minutes - faster than all but four projects, and faster than any game that's raised funds on the network to date.

There's still time for those wanting to chip into the project, with the campaign set to send at 12AM BST on 17th June.

The latest Yooka-Laylee goal is now £2,000,000, with the team offering up free Yooka-Laylee DLC for all backers if the target is met before the clock strikes midnight.
