Is the Lack of 3D in Dragon Quest VIII a Deal-breaker? on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Japanese magazine Famitsu has shared an interesting tidbit about Dragon Quest VIII on 3DS - it doesn't have 3D output.

There will be a lot of Dragon Quest VIII improvements in the 3DS version, including revised graphics, new playable characters and story, however the game won't be taking advantage of the console's stereoscopic features.

To make up for the lack of 3D output in Dragon Quest VIII, the game will have a fully orchestrated soundtrack, voice work and StreetPass to make use of the hardware's local connectivity.

The game launches in Japan on 27th August.

Is the lack of 3D output a deal breaker for Dragon Quest VIII?

Probably worth it to get such a big game on the system. Couldn't they make the 3D available to New3DS systems? I'm sure Nintendo said games could work on both systems with enhanced features for the newer system to take advantage of the extra power?

They might not be interested in the extra effort required though :/. What you can be sure will be supported however is the C-Stick (or circle-pad pro for that matter).

I'm not sure the revised graphics count as an "improvement" though XD... you know? Considering they're worse XD. Not bad, ok, but still worse than before.

Yeah this is one game that I would love to see a HD remaster of. Never managed to complete it on PS2 but loved the graphics, soundtrack and voice acting.
