Mario Maker is Now Super Mario Maker on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

The final game of the Nintendo World Championships 2015 was the intense Mario Maker, now renamed Super Mario Maker.

The game, which allows players to create their own Mario-themed courses using a palette of past and current Super Mario Bros. titles. Hundreds of enemies, warp pipes, power-ups and even bosses can be littered across the stages to make things near-impossible, or even impossible, for the seasoned Mario platforming veteran.

During the tournament finals, Nintendo also officially confirmed a name change for the game, giving it a dose of extra oomph as Super Mario Maker - complete with the porky plumber in his builder's dungarees.

Oh man!

Super Mario Maker was a perfect ending for the Nintendo World Championship.

I love how that first level started out normal...and then went all insane.

Really showed off the power of Super Mario Maker while also serving as a fantastic final challenge.

I wanted the game before, but tonight moved the game far up my list. I can't wait for it!

All these years making NSMB and this comes along. I'm blown away by what I saw last night during the Nintendo World Championships and that was just a taster. I can't wait to see what the players come up with when it's released. The stages the Treehouse team made were absolutely insane and to see Cosmos and John Numbers play them so well was an amazing sight to see.

This will probably end up being my favourite 2D Mario game ever.
