Futuristic Sports Game Blast Ball Revealed on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

A new 3DS game was revealed during the Nintendo World Championship 2015, the frantic multiplayer fest, Blast Ball.

Not much was detailed on the mysterious new project, except the premise - mech-like robots compete in a futuristic ball sport in first person. Blast Ball was then played by tournament contestants in a single-match elimination having not encountered the concept prior to taking to the stage.

Curious? Nintendo also shared a short snippet of the game (stream via NintendoEverything):

Looks cool. Looking forward to hearing a lot more details starting Tuesday.

I liked having it as a game in the NWC. Nice having a fun game where everyone was playing for the first time. Tests a gamers ability to learn and adapt and not just repeat skills of a game you may have played for a hundred hours.

If I had to guess the developer I would guess NST (makers of Metroid Prime Hunters)

This really looks like it could be Retro's new game. The HUD looks so much like Prime's and the idea of using a ball is kind of like the Morph Ball from Metroid.

I wonder if this is just some sort of online/multiplayer mode in a new 3D Metroid for the 3DS.
