Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water Arriving Autumn 2015 on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

The next installment in the Project Zero/Fatal Frame series is due in the West in Autumn this year.

Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water (Fatal Frame in North America) takes place in Hikamiyama, which is inspired by the Suicide Forest in Japan, where people go to commit suicide.

Players use the gryo controls of the Wii U GamePad to capture ghosts, with a mechanic known as the Wetness Meter allowing for stronger attacks the wetter the character is, at the price of having to fend off more ghosts at lower defence.

Check out the new trailer revealed today.

Yes! I cannot wait for this!

I own all the consoles, ask me anything

They should have shown this in the Digital Event. So good, no idea why they didn't and spent so much time on Woolly World.

yoshi is more marketable to general audiences.

It's mainly watched by fans tho, so not putting the trailer for this at all did seem odd to me too. Why just exclude it altogether?

if i had to guess- ninty isnt ready to show it off and probably wants to have some english translation of some sort first.

I guess, maybe. SMTXFE had next to no English, with JP voice overs.

Either way, it should have been in the Digital Event. No excuses for it to not be, like Az said, they showed those other Japanese games.

They could have even did one of those in-depth segments for it, since it's a game series westerners haven't got to experience much before, so it would have been cool to get some background on the game and it's development. This will be the first time I play a Fatal Frame game, so I'd like to know more about the series for sure.
