Zelda: Tri Force Heroes Risks Game Over on Player Dropout on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Better keep those friends sweet, as The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes stops gameplay if anyone drops out.

The latest spin-off entry in the ever expanding tale of a young lad and his sword sees a group of Link wannabes attempting to showcase their heroic status as part of a group of three. The co-operative nature of the game plays heavily into the dungeon designs, problem solving and boss sequences, so Tri Force Heroes requires three characters to be active at all times.

Players have one of two choices: play solo, with the other Link characters as puppet-like pals, or play with two other friends.

However, if one of those friends drops out, "you'll get to a game over screen," confirmed the game's director Hiromasa Shikata in an interview this week. However, the game's progress will - fortunately - be saved, but players "won't be able to continue unless you find a replacement or go solo."

Do you think this could be a potential issue during multiplayer?

As long as the progress is saved as it states, then I don't think it's too much of an issue.

This is the kind of stuff my group of friends has been craving for for a while. 3 players is perfect! Enough room for me, my gf and my childhood friend. I can not wait for this game to be released! Smilie

Hopefully it is a full zelda experience in the sense of for example a Link between Worlds. That would be a great way to spend a weekend.

The difference between illusion and reality is vague to the one who suffers from the former and questionable for the one suffering form the later.
