With the new Nintendo NX, the company are looking to find what makes players excited again.
In an interview with Fortune, Shinya Takahashi, who leads Nintendo's Software Planning & Development Division alongside Shigeru Miyamoto, noted how there is a need to get players interested again.
Takahashi feels that Nintendo needs to find "that element that is really going to catch the attention of a large number of players again and get them excited."
Miyamoto re-iterated his recent stance that the Wii U didn't ignite the imagination of consumers due to the "time period in which we released it" with the influx of different tablet devices.
He's also pulled out of "some of the hardware section" and is more focused on software, Miyamoto admitted. "I'm observing and looking at the hardware, but I am not actively participating and making decisions."
What does Nintendo need to do to recapture the passion once again?
