Nintendo have discussed why, in North America, its games aren't generally released over the summer.
Over recent years, key games have been omitted from summer schedules - particularly in the US, with only a single title released during July since 2007 by Nintendo themselves.
During an interview with Nintendo's Senior Director of Corporate Communications, Charlie Scibetta, he noted how "a bulk" of the company's business is done during the holiday season, "probably about 60% in October, November and December."
Scibetta feels that games should be launched when "people are in the mood to buy", and it seems that during July and August is when it goes quiet for game purchases, picking up again towards the end of September.
He also felt that school graduations, late May/early June, are a good time for key Nintendo launches.
Do you agree with Scibetta's comments - should Nintendo avoid the summer season for releasing games?
