During a meeting with investors, Nintendo boss Satoru Iwata was once again quizzed about the NX console.
The company are keeping tight-lipped on plans for future hardware and software, but Iwata felt it was necessary to "communicate that Nintendo is not pessimistic about the future of the dedicated game system business but rather more and more eager to continue it."
That said, Iwata wants to hold these details till nearer the time of release as "the entertainment business has an aspect where there is value in surprising consumers."
The Nintendo boss believes that the company needs to show players "how the magic works," rather than simply describing how it works.
Going forward, Nintendo will be "making various considerations and preparations in order to avoid what happened with the previous generations."
Do you think Nintendo can avoid mistakes with the NX?
