Zombi U Gets Updated Console Port on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

The once Wii U exclusive game ZombiU will rise once again with an upgraded port for PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Ubisoft announced the project this morning, with a number of updates and changes to the experience as the undead shuffle onto other home platforms. The premise in the newly title Zombi remains the same, though, as players take on the role of multiple survivors within the tarnished streets of London.

The team have moved the map onto the TV screen, but it disappears when not required. There's also dedicated backpack shortcuts, additional melee weapons and tweaks to how the flashlight works, too.

The game will be available from 18th August.

In all fairness, though I think this will defo be a much better version than the Wii U one, cause of everything that will have been improved upon, I will miss the gamepad gameplay. I mean it's one of those rare games where the use of the gamepad made sense to me. Forcing the player to lok away from the action to manage their backpack, just like a survivor would in the same situation if it was real, was genius, it was an integrant part of the experience for me. Scanning stuff I wasn't too fond of, but management on the thing while the game kept going, that induced stress that made you feel more in the shoes of the survivor than I had ever felt before. But still... this new version will surely be much better, even if not quite as immersive.

I think the Gamepad is what makes this game great so I won't be getting one of these versions. It's a shame it didn't do better than it did. Smilie
