The Nintendo CSR Report 2015 highlights just how much work the company put into creating amiibo figures.
Nintendo's Masaki Amano described just how it has been "extremely challenging" as Nintendo hadn't had existing knowledge in creating these sorts of interactive toys, so "had to proceed through everything by trial and error."
Nintendo started by creating a master, and seeing how easily it was to put each together, before finally making an iron metal mould. The team also looked into ensuring that parts couldn't be torn off easily, twisted or whether the pointy bits are dangerous.
