Nintendo Direct videos will continue following the passing of former company president Satoru Iwata.
Iwata, who passed away in July this year due to cancer, was the primary face of Nintendo's long-running series of videos designed to relay the latest updates on current/upcoming games. Nintendo had chosen to expand on this format for the last two consecutive E3 Expo events, having broadcast pre-recorded footage over the internet instead of a traditional press conference.
Since July, it's been unclear whether Nintendo will continue producing Nintendo Direct videos, however the publisher confirmed today that "Nintendo Directs will continue" and to stay tuned for more details on future topics.
A new Nintendo president was announced yesterday, veteran director Tatsumi Kimishima.
Should Nintendo Directs continue without Iwata at the helm?
