Shadow the Hedgehog
Chaos Control!
Profile by Connor Brinsmead [ Thief101 :: Freelance Writer ]
Shadow has appeared in two of the three Sonic games for Gamecube. He is Sonic's enemy and is a much bigger threat then Dr. Eggman because his powers equal those of Sonic. However, he never appears to be as threatening as he could be for he is not truly evil, he just follows the Dr's orders.
Age: Shadow's time of creation is unknown, although we do know that he was created before Sonic, who is in fact fifteen years old...
Species: Strange, isn't it? How out of all the powerful creatures out there, like bears, hawks, or lions, the world's ultimate life form is a mere Hedgehog. Whilst being organic himself, the clone of Shadow from Sonic Heroes is a robotic hedgehog, so I suppose that kind of gives that form an unfair advantage!
Location: Anywhere where Sonic is, really. He might be working with him, or a against him, but he's there somewhere. He's usually somehow involved with Eggman too.
Birth: Dr. Eggman's Grandfather, Dr. Gerald Robotnik, created him. The Shadow project was cancelled when everyone else became afraid of the idea. Dr. Eggman, of whom we know and hate, freed Shadow from his capsule much later.
Main Features: He very closely resembles Sonic in shape, except for his spikes, which bend upwards unlike the Blue One. His colour is very different. His main body colour is black and he has a white belly. Lastly, he has red highlights in his hair. I wonder what Hair Salon he went to in order to get those?
Clothing: Shadow is mainly naked except for his gloves, the style that all Sonic characters strangely seem to wear, and his amazing shoes. Shadow's shoes act like roller-blades yet do not actually have wheels, and they also allow him to float. Nike of the future!
After being released, he granted Dr. Eggman one wish. Of course, Dr. Eggman wished for his assistance in taking over the world and that's where Sonic comes in. He's the only thing stopping Eggman. Shadow is really just a confused and lost soul. He's not evil; he just does what he's told. Or does he? The only power that separates the Blue One with him is his ability to freeze time with the help of a Chaos Emerald. This manoeuvre is called Chaos Control!
I found both of his games just as good as each other. However, his role in Sonic Adventure 2 was far more significant.
It would definitely have to be Dr. Gerald's niece, Maria, with whom Shadow made a promise. Every time Shadow remembers this promise he gets sidetracked. As for the people playing the game, we have no idea what she is talking about. "Give them a chance to be happy"…I mean, just what the hell is all that about?!
Shadow is a typical new villain with lots of background to him, and there is no doubt that he will appear in all future Sonic games.
