Rumour: A report suggests that Nintendo are intending to ship around 10-12 million NX units next year.
Nintendo are still keeping shtum on the forthcoming NX system, with an air of secrecy into just what the hardware entails, a release date and the key dollop of Nintendo innovation. However, suppliers are said to be laying out the foundations for Nintendo to be able to produce the console in bulk for release.
A report from Digi-Times (via GamesIndustry) suggests that Nintendo will be partnering with Foxconn Electronics to manufacture the NX, with mass production set to begin at the end of the first quarter next year.
Foxconn Technology, Macronix, Pixart Imaging, Coxon Precise Industrial, Nishoku Technology, Delta Technology, Lingsen Precision Industries and Jentech are said to be supplying components for the Nintendo NX.
By comparison, Wii U had just shy of 11 million lifetime unit sales as of September 2015.
Do you think Nintendo will be releasing the NX in 2016?
