Bayonetta Blasts into Super Smash Bros. on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

As the overall winner of the Super Smash Bros. Ballot, Bayonetta will be strutting her stuff on Wii U and 3DS.

The total characters for the game will be 58 upon Bayonetta's release in February, with the witch wrapping up development on additional characters. The Umbra Witch will dish out a barrage of combo attacks, kicks and short bursts of bullets, manipulating time and summoning freakish beasts from the depths of space.

Bayonetta also comes with a brand new stage called Umbra Clock Tower, littered with moving platforms within this gritty, alternate world. The DLC is planned for release in February, alongside Corrin for Super Smash Bros.

Here's a striking piece of artwork penned by the team at Platinum Games:

This one was never really out of the realm of possibility, but good on them for making it happen.

I really wish they'd reveal the results of the ballot tho. But I guess people would go nuts at the ones that Bayo got one over on.

In fact, thinking on it, what if Snake was the #1 pick? Given Konami's shitshow, no way would they have been able to strike up a deal to get him in. That could be one reason they never revealed the full overall worldwide results.

Called it, and voted for. Great choice, glad all 3 characters play completely different from anyone else. Does mean Bayo 3 is no longer such a long shot.

Words can't explain how pleased I am with this additon! O_O More adorable and bad*** witches to the people!

Needless to say, she will become a secondary character at least! Smilie

The difference between illusion and reality is vague to the one who suffers from the former and questionable for the one suffering form the later.

I feel she the best character out the new ones, her move set is amazing! Definitely feels like a good pick for the game. Obviously I'm disappointed there was no Dixie Kong reveal, but it doesn't matter too much, since I've lost interest in Smash Bros.

I don't really belive she was highest voted in Europe, but she was probably highest voted that they were able to add easily (especially due to the Bayonetta 2 exclusivity and support).

Just fed up with the Smash community getting so defensive and acting all superior. It's embarrassing and obnoxious. The amount of comments I've seen whining about other peoples comments that are disappointed by the new characters is ridiculous. There's more people whining about that than people actually whining about the character choices. How ironic...

People have different favourites, is that so hard to understand? All I've seen is a bunch of silly comments with the word "salt" and "funny" pictures doing the rounds. Yeah, well funny that...

"lololllollol im sooooo funy, lololol, SALT SALT SALT!!! ha haha hahah aha"

"i can post a picture i stole off someone else har har har its soooooooooooooooo funnyyyy"

"only word i know is SALT"

"ha hra hahaer"

Yeah... The PJSalt'ing is really strong in the Sm4sh community at times.... The maturity level feels really really low at times.

There are some fucking sad people out there tho. It's just vidya, man. People need to stop taking it so seriously. Others should remember it's also okay to complain about stuff tho. We are entitled to express disappointment and such. If no one said anything, it would be boring as hell. But yeah, I don't engage much outside of a handful of specific places I go to for my fave games/series, so I thankfully don't get to see all the pathetic comments.

I don't see why they would lie about Bayo being #1 in Europe tho. They practically admitted she didn't win the ballot with that comment, so they clearly haven't been able to put the #1 worldwide character in, and that makes sense if it was Snake or some other property that they had no realistic chance of getting into the game. But I do wish they would reveal the results, just for curiosity's sakes.

Thats why i no longer post on gamefaqs. Most internet forums are toxic. I don't think nintendo would lie about bayo winning the european poll. I also don't think its wise to reveal the results of the poll. They may damage relationships with the companies that said no

Let's not kid ourselves who is actually no.1 voted: Goku

Wouldn't shock me, and if that's the case I am way happier with what we got instead tbh (Goku would likely be boring as **** in Smash...). Smilie I also wouldn't look as kindly at yet another swordsperson if we did not get a witch for me to add to my list of Sm4sh characters I enjoy playing as... XD

...and Link will finally reach his puberty Smilie

Can't a fella drink in peace?
