Latest Nintendo Sales and Top Sellers Revealed on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

As we enter the final quarter this fiscal year, Nintendo has outlined the latest batch of sales figures.

It's been a fairly solid nine months for Nintendo (for the period ending December 2015), as the company capitalised on the surprise success of Splatoon, plus the continual strength of more evergreen games like Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS.

Nintendo recorded an operating profit of 33.5bn yen (approximately $277m) during the last fiscal quarter (October to December 2015), with net income at 29.1bn yen ($241m). Wii U hardware sales have taken a dip during the last three months, though, now sitting at a 12.6 million unit lifetime figure.

3DS dropped compared to the same period in 2014, with 3.6 million units sold (compared to nearly 5 million units). Lifetime figures, however, are at 57.9 million sold.

I'm actually stunned to see the profits they're returning, considering I've heard for so long that Nintendo is in a decline. $277m of profits is a strong uphill ascension from where I sit.Smilie

Has Anyone Really Been Far Even as Decided to Use Even Go Want to do Look More Like?

It's one thing if they post a loss (though still ridicioulous), but It's particularly amusing to see all the proclamations that Nintendo is finally done for / going to have to go third party / going bankrupt / etc. after posting a $227 million profit.

To see Splatoon sell over 4 million is stunning.
I think Nintendo should launch the NX with a sequel to it to really hit the ground running.

Absolutely. Capitalise on it whilst it's hot.

Some people simply seems to have some extreme hatred towards Nintendo. It's almost as if they believe that by wishing hard enough that Nintendo should end up in the deep red it will happen... o.O

I get that they dislike that Nintendo is not prioritizing the generic FPS/Action titles they so deeply desire, but to believe that no one else will be getting those games is ridiculous. Another thing is that Nintendo doesn't exactly need to spend an extreme sum of cash to develop those more cartoony games, which means that a bigger part of the sales goes to profit. Nintendo has a pretty healthy company politics in my opinion which means that the company will more often than not make positive numbers and therefore steadily increase. Hence why they've managed to stay in the industry as long as they have making steady profit throughout the decades.

The difference between illusion and reality is vague to the one who suffers from the former and questionable for the one suffering form the later.
