SEGA has announced that the origins story of Kazuma Kiryu will come West early next year.

Yakuza 0 is set in the seedy underworld of Japan in 1988, with Kiryu ascending the ranks of the Yakuza. Caught up in a debt collection and murder, Kiryu must regain his honour and save the reputation of his father figure.

The series' eccentric NPC, Majima Goro, is also playable for the first time ever. Players will get to use his unique fighting style and see how he turns anything into profit throughout the story.

Yakuza 0 will only be released on PS4 in the West, despite being a PS3 and PS4 release in Japan. The game will feature Japanese voices and English text.

Hype. Really pleased this series is starting to find ground outside Japan again. Yakuza 5 must have done well enough to warrant this localisation.

Any Shenmue fans that still haven't got into this series yet, for god's sake, do so. It will keep you going nicely until Shenmue 3. It's more brutal, but it has quite a similar play style and feel, as well as familiar settings, gameplay and minigames. It's helped me come to terms with the long wait till Shenmue 3 that much better (I always had faith S3 would come, but Yakuza has been as close an alternative as you can get).

Looks good. Love the game world feel to it.
