To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the The Legend of Zelda franchise, Cubed3 has produced several Zelda-themed articles. There are always people who celebrate the greatness of the franchise at conventions around the world, namely cosplayers. These people put a lot of heart and soul into their costumes to replicate the characters in their favourite shows or video games, and give it their all to act out as them, bringing them to life in the real world. As part of Cubed3's celebration of the anniversary, we have searched around the internet for some of the best Zelda-related cosplays to share with you. Here are our favourite ten.
Ruto - Hyrule Warriors
It is clear that a lot of makeup work was put into this cosplay to create the illusion of the costume being an actual part of the skin and making the model look like an actual Zora.

Ganondorf - Twilight Princess
Another costume that must have taken some hours infront of the mirror to pull off is this Ganondorf cosplay. The pose of the model captures the personality of the wielder of the Triforce of Power and the robust posture gives away an aura of power! That wig must have taken some crafting to make, too...

Lana - Hyrule Warriors
Speaking of amazing wigs, few characters have as much hair-work as Lana from Hyrule Warriors, due to all of her accessories and very anime-esque hairstyle. The maker of this costume did, however, do a wonderful job recreating that hairdo, plus put a lot of work into the details of Lana's clothing, creating a very fine costume!

Zelda - A Link to the Past
Many cosplayers choose characters with heavily detailed costumes to replicate, leaving some characters in the dark, such as ALttP Zelda. While her blue and white dress leaves very few details for talented tailors to work on, the model of this cosplay went all in on capturing the character, or rather a scene the character is in. This depiction of the jail part at the start of A Link to the Past truly brings Zelda to life for the viewer in a very beautiful way!

Fi - Skyward Sword
This Fi costume utilises posture, makeup and material very well to help maintain the illusion that this isn't a costume, with great focus put on the little details.

Midna and Puppet Zelda - Twilight Princess
No cosplay list would be complete without a group cosplay! This couple with true form Midna and Possessed Zelda is magnificent. Both of the costumes and the makeup are carefully made and applied on the models, captururing the grace of the characters in a beautiful way!

Zelda - Skyward Sword
Sometimes a simple approach is the best. There aren't many details in this white dress Skyward Sword Zelda costume to pay attention to. This makes it so much more important to put focus on the details there are and to work the costume to its best effect, and that is truly done here! The dress and the model look natural and very much like the innocent girl who lives in Skyloft before she gets carried away to the lands below. The natural simplicity of the costume encapsulates the character very well.

Midna - Twilight Princess
The first place taker of this top ten list has everything that has been mentioned above. Great makeup, great posture, great details, great capturing of the character. Everything is caught extremely well in this imp-form Midna cosplay. The well applied makeup and quality of the costume makes it difficult to tell that this isn't actually Midna, and the pose that yells of playfulness showcases the personality of the cursed Twilight Princess, making this the costume and model I find best captures the spirit of her character.
