Yooka-Laylee Trailer and Release Info on Nintendo gaming news, videos and discussion

Playtonic Games has announced a delay of a few months for upcoming 3D platformer Yooka-Laylee, which was originally planned to release in October this year. The game will now launch in the first quarter of 2017, with the team wishing to use the extra few months to add polish and ensure it lives up to fans' expectations.

A brand new trailer, showing off plenty of new gameplay, has been shared, and PlayStation Access also gives a behind the scenes look at the game, with interviews with members of the Playtonic team detailing more about Yooka and Laylee's moves and worlds. I...just...came. Wow! Smilie Smilie THIS is what I've been waiting for, not the awful reboot of BK on Xbox or the crazy reimaging of Conker.

I can't wait. Some really good games on the horizon in next year or two.

Wahay!

Zero Dawn!

Yeah, it look absolutely brilliant! I'm really excited for it. I do like the sound of characters from Yooka-Laylee being used in different future projects by Playtonic. My main hope is a spiritual sequel to Diddy Kong Racing!

You got it!

Yeah, I defo want a kart racing side game. Proper adventure mode, yo.

This game looks beautiful. I think Rare are the only other developers that possess the "Nintendo charm" and it has certainly been carried over with the creation of Playtonic.

Also, hearing that Playtonic will be working on the PC and Wii U versions internally, while the XONE and PS4 versions are outsourced to Team17 gives me faith that Playtonic want to make sure the Wii U version is equally as amazing as the PC one.

All in all, glad I backed this one. Think I put down like £90 or something, but well worth it and it certainly made me feel good. Smilie
