Donkey Kong 35th Anniversary | Top 25 DK Music Tracks

The Donkey Kong series has been blessed with a number of fine composers throughout its rich history - most of which contributed to the soundtracks of the successful side-scrolling platforming adventures of the big gorilla and his Kong pals. David Wise is perhaps most synonymous with the musical works of the series, creating the majority of the scores for the Donkey Kong Country trilogy, and returning for the soundtrack of Tropical Freeze. Eveline Novakovic (née Fischer) should most definitely not be forgotten for her contributions to the original DKC and almost all of DKC3, whilst Grant Kirkhope was most notable for DK64. Wise and Kirkhope both collaborated for Diddy Kong Racing, and the three of them all had some say in the various DK Land and DK Country handheld trilogies' soundtracks. Sure enough, it is the most popular DK games - and arguably the series' highest points - that have delivered the best musical scores, with much of our list of 25 featuring many Country tunes, but who can blame us?
