GoldenEye 64 for the DS...
...Rare's Classic Returns!

It seems that Goldeneye DS has been featured in the gaming media recently but due to the exploitation of a classic franchise name by our friends at Electronics Arts, bless them, confusion has aroused regarding the DS version.

One side states a port of the 64-bit version which we previously reported below, but other reports suggest otherwise. It seems, due to a folly by our favourite publisher, that Rogue Agent could possibly be in development for the system, a more likely proposition from EA.

Whether or not the reports are true, it seems that a port of Nintendo 64 classic isn't possible at this time, however a remake still could be and until EA confirms development we still cannot be sure which version would appear on the system.

We would like to apologise for speculation posted up previously, and hopefully our update will satisfy some of our egotisical readers out there. Enjoy.

Previous report: When it was announced that GoldenEye was coming to the Nintendo DS, many assumed it would just be a special version of the EA pseudo-sequel, GoldenEye: Rogue Agent. Therefore interest certainly has not peaked around the world.

However, it has now been revealed by Nintendojo that the title is coming from both Nintendo and EA and will in fact be a port of the classic Rare game, GoldenEye, that sold millions upon millions of units and basically helped the Nintendo 64 stay alive in the face of much adversity.

The exclusive Nintendo DS title will include many updates that will enhance what was already a spectacular experience, including the ability for up to 16 players to join in on the action via the DS's Wi-Fi capabilities. There is even rumours of online play...

Expect more news on this amazing announcement in the near future...
