It has been an era since the epic tale of swords and shields was unleashed on Sony's Playstation 1... and, from this latest footage it seems like the anticipated Gamecube sequel is certainly something different, perhaps you might just call it an "evolution".

Link, someone you wouldn't expect to be on a Namco title, but, he is and the latest footage does reflect on perhaps a side that Nintendo haven't explored of the young Hylian hero - a mischievous and cunning hero, who does appear somewhat wreckless, but, nevertheless astounding, to say the least. With familiar moves, and very rapid combinations, the childish judgements about him can be diminished - powerful emotive styles and stances, coupled with brutal attacks and specials... truly something that has been carefully considered.

Whilst a majority, well, all but one of today's videos are FMV sequences, the ingame footage does actually sustain the level of detail, and the very high speed rendering that we could only have visualised several years back - slick motion, and fluid combinations provide something that could be perceived to be beyond realism itself.

Link's clothing is something that has been developed upon - instead of his, somewhat plastic ensemble of the SSBM fame, this time, it actually looks like he is in his silk tunic, and the subtle animation on his clothing do five the impression of realism. Notably, his leather boots, which actually do look like they are made of this material, provide the sense of being part of the game.

The contact between characters seems very solid - each attack provides a suitable amount of damage, and the lack of exaggeration again provides the extra feeling of realism the game has been acclaimed to provide. Much to my surprise though, is that the backgrounds have, like the characters, been superbly designed - from the lush waterfalls in the caverns of newbie, Lixard man, to the ancient Chinese temple of the Mitsurugi fame.

Now, enough of me rambling because I have been consistantly watching this brilliant clips, it's time for you to view some of the best footage to date.

In this clip, link performs some sharp and decisive combinations, whilst detailing some immense textures, small particle deflections and very stylish poses to accentuate his emotions.

Battle with "Lizardman"<
/b>
Link enters an epic battle in the sewers with what seems to look like the lizards from his franchise. The way the game appears almost the same as the FMV sequence is austounding - speed, style and charisma has been retained to Nintendo standard.

Astaroth's Chracter Profile
Big, green and quite frankly the most hideous creature from Namco to date, surely good old Cervantes was bad enough, but, this "Hulk" impseronator provides some of the game's most strongest attacks, as demonstrated in this footage - sharp and decisive blows, but, is a little toward the slower side with his mass to sustain.

Cassandra's Chracter Profile
Being the sister to Sophitia, Cassandra has somewhat of a unique figthing style - whilst revealing some of he most treasured areas, appears a little weak and sluggish - I hope that her older sister will make up in terms of speed and strength when unlocked.

Ivy's Chracter Profile
Leathal, poweful and decisive... three words to describe the whip infesting woman of mystery - Ivy. She returns with improved speed and strength, but, still provides the awe and mystery that the series has been acclaimed for.

Voldo's Chracter Profile
When a blind person is deformed, crushed and has vowed his life to protecting evil weaponry, this is it - Voldo has yet again returned to protect is "master", who now turns out to be "Nightmare"... dominated by souls and what seems to now be more random attacks that before. Go Voldo.
