DS News | Konami Announce Two For U.S.

By Barry Lewis 26.01.2006

Konami has revealed that its new RPG, 'Tao's Adventure: Curse of the Demon Seal', is releasing exclusively for the Nintendo DS platform in March 2006. The title will feature intense battle sequences and mind-boggling riddles as players take control of Tao, a fledgling magic student on Bente Island.

The young protagonist must traverse the land to save his family and fellow village people from an evil curse that is turning people to stone. To break the curse Tao must find an egg of the ancient monster that cursed his family, and with that egg he can return to the village thus saving his family and friends. To make matters worse for poor young Tao he must return by the next full moon or the effects of the curse shall never be broken.

During his travels Tao must master and cast spells, via the Nintendo DS' touch pad, as he battles dozens of monsters over 40 stages of thrilling action. Tao will also compete in side quests to raise his reputation amongst townspeople, as well as collecting eggs and training monsters to assist him in his fight.

Tao's Adventure: Curse of the Demon Seal promises to have an endearing storyline that RPG fans will instantly love, and releases exclusively to Nintendo DS in March 2006.

The second title to be hitting American shores from Konami will appear in the fall of 2006, on both Nintendo DS and rival Sony PSP platforms, and that title is Steel Horizon:

"Steel Horizon offers players complete control of Naval fleets within a series of missions within a fictional scenario featuring well-known World War II battles. The game is inspired by popular pulp fiction set during World War II, and delves into the key events and characters behind historic battles. Its scenario tells of a shady third party pulling the strings to orchestrate the war, using futuristic technology to advance the carnage for their own ends.

Thus, the player is cast as the American Captain of one of three ultra-secret Navy vessels, and while initially surviving battles, must also expose and ultimately destroy the meddling organisation and save the world. Thus, the ships at the player's disposal include battleships, aircraft carriers, destroyers and submarines, and the individual attributes of each must be used to take out enemy fleets and the organisation's more advanced vessels.

In addition to the involving solo mode, players can also compete against a rival player via the wireless multi-player modes the hardware allows."
