Earlier today we received some behind the scenes information about Crossbeam Studios, courtesy of director Greg Szemiot. Here's what he had to said about the progress of their games' development:

"Today was without a doubt one of the most fun days I've had on CSE for a while. An 8 hour meeting to go over the final design docs and story flow charts for Orb to fix up any remaining issues. We also finally have the weapons system finalized (we really are going to push customization here...farther than most any game before I think. Either way, it's going to be amazing) We also finalized the plans for the Revolution controller for the parts of the controler we know about (i.e. the 3d control) and that was a lot of fun and involved a lot of ideas and eureka moments, plus silly movements (we tended to exaggerate our movements to get the idea across). The magic system is coming along, though we had to change the GUI a bit to better fit a new idea using the revmote. Omar is working on some new music, we really have to get that new software for him, because what he's using just doesn't cut it anymore with what he's trying to do.

Darkness also took some major leaps today as far as the rest of the CSE directors understanding what Nichols has in mind. Holy crap, some of the ideas seem like direct responses to the fear thread [on Crossbeam's forum], just taken to the extreme. There's artwork for that game that is just crazy, the stuff you have seen of Darkness I just found out is a 3 minute sketch by Cole 4 years ago when Nichols first thought up the concept of the game... the new stuff is just completely twisted. I swear, I'm not even going to play that game with the lights off. On that note, both Nichols and Cole (the director and lead artist on Darkness respectively) have been pulling major time on Orb stuff, as have the rest of the Orb team over the past week.

We also have some great stuff coming soon for you guys to buy to not only get a piece of CSE in your home and to wear, but to help us with the funding a bit. To those of you who have donated, thank you. To those of you who have supported us in other ways, thank you."

Stick with C3 for more information, behind the scenes or otherwise, on Crossbeam...
