Revolution News | Global Launch Not Unlikely?

By Barry Lewis 31.03.2006 6

A spokesperson for Nintendo has (rather unsurprisingly) been speaking to MCV in an attempt to clear up any confusion, specifically after online sources took Satoru Iwata's comments out of context - including Cubed3 and this very reporter. It seems that a global launch could well be on the cards, with the following statement being produced:

"The comments have been taken out of context," a non-disclosed Nintendo spokesperson revealed. "What he's actually saying is that we're not holding a worldwide launch just because everyone else is doing one too. It's just another re-iteration of the fact that we're not looking at what Sony or Microsoft are doing.

"Unfortunately, it seems everyone's jumped on it and got the wrong idea."

The fact that a spokesperson has specifically come forward to dismiss this story is rather interesting, and leaves two main reasons open. This could either indicate that we will be seeing a launch in all regions within a short timeframe, or perhaps Nintendo have yet to decide and wished all avenues to be left open. Regardless of when or how the system launches, expect more solid details at E3 in May.

I was so confused there for a couple of minutes, thought Nintendo were releasing Wiilite for a second.

Mike Gee of iZINE said, "...The Verve, as he [Richard Ashcroft] promised, had become the greatest band in the world. Most of the critics agreed with him. Most paid due homage. The Verve were no longer the question mark or the clich. They were the statement and the definition."

ha ha me too! bless the past.

It's fun to look through old news posts and see what everyone thought/speculated, and see how wrong everyone was.
