Rumour | Pilotwings Confirmed For Nintendo Revolution?

Electronic Gaming Monthly, a multiformat gaming magazine from America, has published rumours of Pilotwings being in development for Nintendo Revolution in its 'Rumour Mill' section. This would go along with the rumours of a SNES/N64 franchise being re-awoken for Revolution.

In Pilotwings, you are put in the seat of various flying craft and, quite simply, fly about collecting points and fulfilling goals. It has been rumoured to be coming to the Revolution ever since the Tokyo Game Show 2005, where Nintendo demonstrated the Revolution controller for the first time behind doors using a demonstration of a flying plane that was controlled simply by moving the remote around in the air.

Also appearing in the 'Rumour Mill' section was a note about Mario Paint possibly coming to the Nintendo DS and Revolution. We have a scan of the page below.

That follows EGM's rumour of a SNES/N64 game getting revived on the Revolution...and I still think Factor 5 will be involved (as I mentioned in the last EGM rumour thread) Smilie

There's also a rumour of 'Mario Point' for the DS and Rev. But whether that's a mis-print and is meant to be Mario Paint I'm not sure...

Well we can hope that they are, even if they're not though this has the potential to shift a great deal of consoles.

Factor 5 ditched Nintendo on a bad note, I bet 2 billion quid that they're nothing to do with it.

Most definitely, and would definitely be a nice one to draw people to demo booths.

A guy playing "Microsoft Flightsim 360" or "Pilotwings Revolution..." HMMM! Smilie

Sounds really neat! I can't wait to see how they will use the REVmote.

EDIT: I had pilotwings for the SNES when I was very young, hated the game. lol Maybe things will be different. I don't think I have played that game for 8-10 years!

If the TGS demo is anything to go by, you'll move the plane entirely with the motion sensing, and possibly speed up/slow down with the buttons, or even pulling and pushing the controller forwards and backwards. At TGS you held the controller like a plane to do it and moved it about just like you would when playing with a toy plane, so I wouldn't be surprised to see the controller scheme surviving here.

Even though this has been put down as a rumour you just know this'd be the perfect showcase for the Rev controller.

IP like Pilotwings make me think that the Rev is going to be just huge. It's the perfect symbiosis of game and control.
