Revolution News | Twilight Princess Controller Update

By John Boyle 14.04.2006 49

The big topic of discussion of late has been how Twilight Princess will utilise the Revmote, with many hinting it'll be only in mini games or only in specific areas. However in a recent interview with ONM it seems that the Revmote will be much more integrated as previously thought:

"...I think the Revolution controller will give quite a different play style to Twilight Princess. When you play Twilight Princess with the GameCube controller it's the same controls that you're used to, but you may beable to do something different with the Revolution controller - like aiming at enemies with the pointing device [the Freehand] and shooting the arrow."

So prepare to have unprecedented control over Link when the Revolution hits our shores later this year.

Good to hear the Revmote is really integrated and not just for mini games.

Well, we're talking about nintendo here so Smilie

~Getting on C3's massive tits since 2K5.~

Sweet news, would be great to play on both systems! - which edition of ONM btw?

:-s. Ahh well, I'll just play it through on the Cube and if I feel like it I can play it again on the Revolution and see how these changes work.

To be honest I don't really care about extra Revolution features!

That was kind of expected.

I had a feeling it would.

Some people here are way too negative... I'll prolly play it Rev-exclusive, cuz constantly switching between Cube and Rev(connecting them to my tv i mean) is kind of pointless, seeing the Rev plays Cube games Smilie

Smilie, which controller to use? The one the game was designed for from the word go, or the one used as a gimmick to sell more hardware.
Smilie, what to do, what to do...

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

It's the newest issue Jorge, I subscribe and get it early.

I hope they didn't delay TP for those reasons, but rather to make it a more complete game.

TP is definitely definitely coming out this year - it makes me tingle (as in skin wise, not the bumbling fat guy with the balloon).

Aha! A pun!
Yes I am very excited too about TP, more so because of the story aspect and exploring aspect than anything.

First play through on the GC, hopefully before the Revolution, or if after on a GC pad but through the Rev.

Second play, using the innovative wonder of the Rev pad and seeing just how much it opens out the gameplay.

I'll be a happy gamer Smilie

Hell yeah! I love exporing. The thing with OOT was that although it's absolutely fucking amazing, it seemed quite lacking in different people you could mingle with, or enemies to battle in the overworld.

In ALTP there are houses littered everywhere, and enemies wherever you go.

Hopefully TP will be a good mix of the both, and from what we've seen (and some of us played), it certainly looks like a great mix of both exploration and battle.

My most anticipated game this year, with the DS one in 2nd.

John, you've already got Issue 3 even though it's not officially on the streets until 20th April? Smilie

No fair...! Smilie So I'm assuming that's from the exclusive Miyamoto interview they've been going on about over the past couple of weeks, right?

What's the Metroid Prime Hunters coverage like and are there any other main features worthy of note?

it's going to be great on rev, and it's the perfect test for a 'true' rev zelda

My ONM hasnt arrived yet Smilie

Yeah, the joys of subscribing raz. Am very impressed with the new issue by the way. I can see my subscription being extended...

Smilie WHY HASNT MINE ARRIVED! ARGHHHH

I'll play on GC first then I might try Rev version. What country is ONM published in?

Vote 1, Eternal Darkness 2 for Wii

ONM is the UK's official mag, and a bloomin good one at that.

They've delayed it so much, it had to be integrated properly or we'd all go nuts.

Anyway, good to hear! I can't wait.

Exactly the same as he confirmed to Falafelkid a month ago then.
