Nintendo Media | Tales of the Tempest DS Scans

We continue our RPG scan onslaught with another upcoming action title. Tales of the Tempest is Namco's first DS Tales installment, and from what we've seen a wonder for a portable: from expansive 3D worlds, interactive battles to a cast of ever-snazzy characters.

The lead role is a young boy, Caius, who lives as an adopted child in a village of Alewallah. In a typical plot, the village is attacked by a fiend who goes by the name of "Spot". No, not Spot the dog. The young boy and his father begin to fight the monster, but during the fight his father and childhood pal Rubian escape the village.

In the recent edition of Famitsu was an excellent two-page article on the upcoming Tales adventure with a batch of fresh screens.

Thanks to neo on the neoGAFforums for the scans.

Be sure to check out a Tales of the Tempest video from earlier this month and the official page.

Stick with C3 for future updates.

Very nice, the video looks exceptionally good. I'll keep an eye on this title.

Looking great, definitely one to watch.

I was just leaving a club at the time you posted these scans... Smilie

This game looks amazing, and if this is what Namco can manage, imagine what Nintendo will finally do with Zelda Phantom Hourglass! Smilie

*Faints*

Definitely, and it's going to be hard to tell which one will take the graphic king top spot!

Its got to be FF3, final fantasy has always been the king of graphics Smilie! Tales of Tempest is close though but I really hate the odd artworks, bring back the tales of symphonia art!

It looks like a few characters can become wolves, & it also looks like there will be more party members, that's cool, as I would be bored with just 3 Smilie

I hope that like on FFII & FFIX there will be supporting characters that join your party for a short time... I also hope the story is looooooooong!! Smilie

EDIT: In responce to some earlier comments, I think that FFIII really is the king of DS graphics (well, not including ASH of course!!) & then this could end up closely after FFIII, it's looking gorgeous.

I also hope to see more Anime artwork (like the ToS stuff) & possibly even some Anime cutscenes in the game? I mean they did a few in Children of Mana didn't they? & DS can do a little FMV, so I wonder if they will do a few Anime cutscenes!!
