UK Chart Highlights LXV
...Nintendo Breaks Top Three!

Your weekly UK Chart Round-Up brought to you by stat-man jesusraz. Remember, the images here do not reflect actual sales!

Another milestone reached...

To be honest, whilst Animal Crossing: Wild World has managed to notch up well over two million unit sales over in Japan since releasing late last year, showing damn strong legs to stay at the top of the chart, nobody really expected it to do much better than the GameCube version's No.18 position in the UK. And yet, three weeks the game has held at No.6, each week selling around the 15,000-20,000 unit mark. But how can such a remarkable feat be maintained? Especially with the game's TV marketing side expiring very soon...and what about Tetris DS?

Lara Nook...Tom Croft...?!

Three weeks in a row at No.1 means that this new Tomb Raider game is by far a wonderfully impressive comeback for Lara, after people thought the quality had dipped too low and interest was waning. Ice Age 2 continues to hold strong at No.2, whilst look at this

Simply great news, can't remember a game doing this well for Nintendo.

My order will be going in sometime soon so hopefully we'll see a top ten rank for a few weeks yet.

Top work Adam!

Really great news for Nintendo! Animal Crossing FTW!

Isn't Animal Crossing Nintendo biggest success in quite sometime? It is doing great in both the UK and Japan and did well in the states, I think.

There are chances we'll see the same situation seen in Japan... I keep fingers crossed =)

DOH! I haven't really gotten into the Animal Crossing franchise, but it's good to hear that Nintendo's finnally getting a lucky break recently. Though it's hardly a surprise; look how other online games are going (i.e. World of Warcraft, Guild Wars). It was a no brainer that an already popular title, regardless whether it was AC or not would do brillianty with WiFi capabilities.

Well I always knew it was going to do well, but I didn't expect it to rise any more. Fantastic stuff.

What were Nintendo doing when they price Tetris at

i can't but thinking that if Nintendo had released the DS Lite as the only iteration of the DS. PSP would be on the ropes in all territories. At least at E3 we'll know when the US and European batches will be shipped.

Great stuff! Hopefully it will last in the top 10 for at least another 2 weeks.

And yeh, I can Tetris for

Seeing Tetris so low is a MAJOR disappointment, and I can only hope it's not indicative of the games performance in other territories. The only thing I can think of is Nintendo needed that price tag to help cover the Wi-Fi costs. But if that was the case, I'd rather have no Wi-Fi and a cheaper Tetris... Smilie

DUUUDE! That's incredible!! Does anyone know how long ago it happened last? 3rd place! DUDE, DUDE, Not even in UK is DS doing badly!!

EDIT: You think it's possible that not many people know about Tetris' DS release? Or maybe the Tetris fans of old are no longer into games, or don't have a DS! Could it be possible that the DS crowd isn't into Tetris? 'COs it's not my kind of game, I never liked Puzzlers, but it could be the same for others!

yeah that is great Animal crossing 3RD, but i was hoping that Tetris was going to be a budget title of

I don't think it's that people don't know it's out (it's got standees everywhere), it's just that they got greedy and put the price too high for people to care about it.

Hmmm i don't really think the price tag was that bad i mean Meteos and Lumines both came out at that price and no one complained. I know tetris is old but this edition has quite a lot of features.

But do other people know that? People just see the cover and think "Tetris? For

To be totally honest I wouldn't by any puzzle game at that price, whether it be Tetris or Meteos.
