The Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) is the world's largest gaming-industry annual event that showcases the top names, games and hardware from the biggest and best.
This year E3 runs from May 9th to 12th inclusive.
2006 is the year to stick with Nintendo for E3 is the unveiling of the company's fifth major home console, codenamed "Revolution" (now known as Wii), along with top Nintendo DS and GameBoy titles.
Cubed3 will be live at the show, with our kind freelancers getting hands on with all things Nintendo and our reporters at home bringing all the latest media, gossip and announcements from the event. Be sure to stick with us for our updates during the very important show for Nintendo and gaming.
This year, our team of four freelancers will be heading down to LA. Two of our freelancers will be Live at Nintendo's Media Briefing and the Nintendo after-party, so expect reports from all areas.
Anna Sky Hulton
Anna Sky often finds herself the only girl at the party. But she isn't one to stick to the easy party games and peripherals. Her interest in gaming started many years ago with the Amiga 500. After a few years of trying to convince herself that she should give up playing games she realised she really couldn't resist any further and bought herself an original brick of gaming history. With her Game Boy in hand, she's never looked back.Throughout her life Anna Sky has never stuck to doing just one thing, so after leaving the confines of journalism education she not only got a full time job but also a couple of part time jobs writing reviews for a number of websites.
This year is Anna Sky's first at E3, after many years of watching the videos and looking at the websites, she finally has a chance (and excuse) for traveling 5500 miles around the world to play some computer games.
At E3 she will be looking forward to finding out exactly what the Revolution (Wii) is all about and whether it really will shine, against the Sony and Microsoft gruntboxes.
You can rest assured that while you are sleeping we will be working our shells off test-driving all the games that will be hitting the High Street stores in the next 12 months.
Nicholas Kleczewski
Nicholas Kleczewski lives in Gloucester, Virginia; that's the U.S. by the way. He is a filmmaker who makes documentary features and music videos. This will be his forth E3 in a row, second reporting for Cubed3. His love for Nintendo extends back to Christmas, 1985 when he had a NES, Popeye, and 3D WorldRunner (hello SquareEnix, where are you on that update!?) under the tree. Look for him running around the Nintendo booth all three days, probably wearing a Morrissey shirt, trying to grab as many video clips as possible...as long as the U.S. doesn't bomb the convention center first!Richard Porton
Richard comes from Reading and flying all the way to LA for little old Cubed3. He works at the local HMV's games section and been a hardcore Nintendo fan since he first saw screenshots of Ocarina of Time (ONM: Issue 64...). Over the years he has slowly amassed himself a nice collection of games (and his beloved chainsaw controller) which includes the likes of Super Mario All-stars, GoldenEye and of course the Legend of Zelda Collectors Edition disc for the Gamecube. During E3, he will be exploring the Nintendo booth like an elf boy on Red Bull to bring Cubed3 the latest news and hands-on impressions on the biggest games around! Unfortunately going to LA will require him to leave his well armed bunker...Joseph Cruz
Joseph is a local resident of LA and will be heading down to the packed convention centre to sample some of the upcoming games for Nintendo DS, Wii and GameBoy Advance at one of the most anticipated expos this side of 2000.Covering the Show

"Organising E3 2006 was something of a lastminute thing. I got an email in my Inbox saying that Media Registration closed in a couple of days and suddenly realised we hadn't organised anything for E3 this year. I'm sure you all know we have a good reputation for getting hands on coverage of the show, and this year we've done better than ever. I'm stupidly excited about the prospects of E3 2006; it should be the biggest show ever (especially for Nintendo). I'll be up all ruddy night updating the site with screenshots and dealing with all the impressions and reports we have coming in from LA along with all the other staff, so on behalf of our merry old team of slaves I hope you enjoy our content this E3 at Cubed3; it should be our best yet!"
James Temperton, Head of Features.
