Poke-fans rejoice! The first screenshots of the next Pokémon RPG adventure have been unleashed onto the Internet.
Scans, courtesy of Neo-GAF, detail the forthcoming games in action - along with several new critters to collect and train, as well as two swanky new trainers to play as.
Pokémon Diamond and Pearl are two titles that are set to take the classic RPG series onto the DS for a modern update. It seems that compatibility with the GBA Pokémon titles are also possible for those who wish to port their best Pokémon over to their DS.
Not much is currently known due to lack of translation, although once information has been leaked expect a big update!
According to reports, a release is slated in for Autumn 2006.
Stick with C3 for future updates!

14231 890 04.01.2003 jbcubed3.I agree with you there fenno - definitely - Gold/Silver were and still are the legends of the series. I remember almost tripping over in Singapore Airport to get these - they had just come out as we were on our way back from Hols!

it's a weird looking 3D 2D, hopfully they have the movement sorted out(enough with the zig zagging!) but i hope the battle scenes are 3D.

8362 503 03.05.2004 Mike@C3It's not as impressive as I thought it might look, though I'm not sure what I expected - I think I was hoping for Minish Cap style 2D, rather than 3Dish 2D.
Still, I'm excited. I hope they don't muck it up, I want my decent sequel to Gold/Silver - R/S were a mess as far as I was concerned, they overcomplicated the series and shoved in a load of crap monsters.

So.... Media black out time!! I promised myself I would have a media blackout for Diamons & Pearl, & I still intend to, so everytime there is new Pokémon info, don't expect to see me there, I don't wanna find out the story, or the new Pokémon, now I've seen the graphics I just wanna know the release date, & I'll wait!
Anyway, I personally think that ALL Pokémon RPGs are awesome (except the 3D ones.. boring snagging) even R/S, & I love Sapphire the most, although most believe that Gold & Silver are the kmings, I find it hard to decide, you see, once you really get into R/S, you REALLY get into it, it's the only Pokémon game I've ever had the patience to train all my Pokémon to 100, never did it on any other game!
Anyway... I was thinking about a media black out on SSBB, well that'll have to ait 'till the NEXT SSB! I can't blackj out THIS one! & I'm blacking out Zelda now too, not PH, just TP.

10730 434 22.01.2003 noneMike, I didn't expect much more than this to be honest. Game Freak seems to just focus on the gameplay more, which is fine by me. It doesn't look awful...just looks like what the GBA version SHOULD have looked like!

I hope they get round to delivering the full Wii RPG we deserve, not like Collesseum and such - I've always dreamt of a full home console version with graphics like the animé...

Guest noneGold/Silver version(s) were brilliant. Nothing beat the original memories of Blue/Red version(s) but with the memory of catching Lugia and then excitedly making my way over to the tower in which Ho-oh resides at the top of was a great experience.
I much loved the ‘cutesy' graphics of Ruby/Sapphire version(s) and Diamond/Pearl look like no exception what with 2D/3D ‘cutesy' graphics not to mention an array of new monsters to find, catch and explore. Can't wait.

9 20 04.04.2005 noneMan, these scans made me squeal like a total fangirl I really haven't fully enjoyed a Pokémon game since G/S/C, and had I not beaten both G/S before I picked up Crystal I would've loved that game even more than I did. If Diamond/Pearl can bring back the magic of the games from before Ruby/Sapphire I'll be so happy. Heh, I think it's time I whip out Sapphire/Colosseum again and get to train my Pokémon to level 100! I haven't done that since Gold
