Quick News - Will Wright, speaking to GameSpy, has shown his support for Nintendo stating that he is 'rooting' for the company in the face of Sony's hefty $599 price-tag for the PlayStation 3. Can we expect a version of Spore in the future? Chances are high as Wright is a huge Nintendo fan in general.

Well it's been 'confirmed' (i.e. not really concrete, but EA's hired people to work on handheld versions) that Spore is coming to the DS...so the Wii isn't out of the question.

I sent Will an e-mail just this morning on the subject. Wii is definitely the #1 home for a game like Spore. Nintendo's "new gen" users definitely can appreciate innovation...and Spore is all innovation. Welcome to Wii, Will!

Wii could take the game to new heights with its innovative controller functions. One or three steps beyond the mouse and keyboard for sure.

What if you could use the controller like a tail in certain levels, knocking over other creatures, or to swim like a paramecium? What about banging together the Wii-mote and nunchuck to simulate jaws? Raaaaaaarh! ?!?

Maybe the Wii-mote will grow yet another attachment to accomodate Spore?

Nintendo + Spore = Revolutionary + Evolutionary!!

SPORE itself is being programmed in a unique manner not to mention the player-created content to which could be uploaded to the database via Nintendo WFC

Spore would be fantastic.

I can see DS<>Wii intergration on the title working.
Heck, the silent nightly downloads fits Spore perfectly too!

Think about Spore as a MMOG... everyone on Wii linked together, and epic battles to show whos race is superior.

What did you ask him?

Since Spore looks like it's coming to the DS, then you'd definitely expect some sort of Wii connectivity if a version comes to that as well...But the focus is on completing the PC version at the moment. I hardly think there are NO thoughts about home console versions, though.

Speaking of Spore, has anyone seen the video of Robin Williams playing around with the creature-editor at this years E3?
