Quick News - Following Microsoft's Peter Moore praising Nintendo, Sony's Phil Harrison has said the same thing to GamePro, 'I think Nintendo will be the second system consumers purchase.' With even Sony and MS backing Nintendo in this way, how CAN the Kyoto company fail with the Wii?

The rest of his sentence said he agreed with Peter Moore...and ended with saying the Wii would be a second purchase to the PS3. Made me laugh, because the way it's worded it sounds like Peter Moore wrote off the 360, saying PS3 --> Wii --> 360! 
This'll be the Wii's big success point. Buying a 360 and PS3 is...well...pointless. So getting a 360 or PS3 along with a Wii is going to be the viable option.
Geez... The world loves Nintendo.

Hehe, this is brilliant, as he says BOTH of Nintendo's main rivals are complimenting them now, they really can't lose out this generation. 
After reading the "Sony digging gravesies" thread, I am CERTAIN Sony will lose.
Good stuff on Nintendo! We'll probably have the usual ports, and a hell-of-a-load of exclusives.
With a lot of titles being simulatenously released on both the PS3 and 360, I agree, there would be no point in getting both. Now that Sony's gone down the "people will buy because of our previous sucess" route it things are looking up for Nintendo to secure a solid second place.

Just think, if everyone who buys a PS3 also buys a Wii as a Second console, AND everyone who buys an X360 also buys a Wii as a Second console.. That's twice as many sales for Wii's!

err? Development time?
Games arnt made instantly, and if Sega arnt going to rush out a sonic game.
Especialy one that looks like it might be as good as the 2D ones.
Are you talking about Sonic 2006 or Sonic Wild Fire? Anyway, development time is another reason, sort of, as if the game sells on a console then it's all worth it in the long run, besides, SEGA could have ben making the Wii version all along, along with the 360 & PS3 version, but they didn't, besides, how can you rush a port? It's just the same game, so you can't exactly rush it, I mean, they would include the same stuf, etc, just maybe a little less graphical power

Most Sonic games are rushed these days, or at least they feel rushed.
Shadow: Was
Rush: Was (pretty much, believe it)
Riders: Wasn't
Sonic 2006: Isn't being rushed

Sonic Rush wasn't rushed...(strangly enough ) Remember the sonic tech demo at E3 when the DS was been shown? SHows they were working on ideas for in then.
Yar, but only a year later they showed a near complete game.
I mean... I don't know how long it takes to make a game like that, but I would have thought it takes at least 2 years 
Well it is a handheld game. They usally have shorter development cycles.
the xbox ppl say that 360 and wii will be the top two didt say xbox3601 1st so i find it odd that sony is saying they 1st and wii 2rd u kno what happed when ppl do that *fulling sound* ^^
In short, MS and Sony are simply planting the idea in people's head that they need a PS3/360 and a Wii. I am honestly believing both companies are getting very very worried!
So, if everyone who gets a PS3 gets a Wii as a second console, and then everyone who gets a 360 gets a Wii as a second console, I believe that puts Nintendo in the number one spot.

This really made me laugh, but really it's only logical, partly, as others have said, because Nintendo don't 'pose a threat'.
But if Microsoft have a 10 million lead when the PS3 comes out, and Wii is the second console to both the X-360 and the PS3 then surely that leaves Sony in a very vulnerable position?
I know it'll be fun because I have read playtests & seen trailers...
Guys, you are all taking this the wrong way.
This is all a publicity stunt from both companies. While it may seem like good heartedness, both companies KNOW that no-one will buy both, so what they are attempting to do is infuse people's minds to buy their own by showing that they "love" nintendo, and it's working....at least for the 360. It's all about playing down their rivals.
I can't believe so many people are falling for this.

Ok guys, HOLY COW!!! What's happening!?! The world trully is changing...Bush doesn't want a war, the tallest guy in NBA is an asian and Sony compliments Nintendo!! :O
