Nintendo News | Devil May Cry Wii?

By Adam Riley 19.05.2006 27

Quick News - Devil May Cry producer Hiroshi Kobayashi has revealed in Famitsu that the fourth game in Capcom's series may make it on to both Microsoft's XBOX 360 and Nintendo's Wii, rather than remaining PlayStation 3 exclusive. Could this be a knee-jerk reaction to Sony's revelation of such a high price-tag? Whatever the case, it could be great news for Nintendo fans indeed!

It'd be nice to have such a high profile franchise make it to the Wii. I've never really been a big fan (I hate those camera angles), but it has a massive following.

yeah!!! i love the devil may cry games they rock i just wonder though how they would use the wiimote effectivley? any ideas any one? Smilie

I always was a fan of Dante - clever designed game yet totally over the top cutscenes and easy to learn gameplay - last one good for Wii-customers who like easy entry for games.
Graphic-power is more than enough - there may be possibilities to compare Wii with PS3 and Box. That would be very interesting...

I find your lack of faith disturbing!

Both Microsoft and Nintendo will benefit greatly from such a high profile franchise moving unto their consoles. It will be a serious blow to Sony if they lost exclusitivity on this title. It could lead to more developers following suit and opting to produce key franchises for the 360 and Wii console respectively. Speculatively speaking, It could eventually lead to Microsoft having a more dominance stance in the Japanese gaming market if more Japanese developers particularly the big guns (Namco-Bandai, Capcom Konami, Square Enix)dissolve exclusitivity and opt for simultaneous multi-format launches.

its a big franchise to have, east or west! great!

It's now official: There is absolutely no reason to buy a PS3

'Tis good for Nintendo, but Devil May Cry is crap.

It just makes economic sense. PS3 is the console for rich kids who want less fun for more money. That's the long and short of it. Game developers can't afford NOT to develop for other platforms/audiences. Sony will get few if any truly exclusive titles, especially after the first year, because a $25 million development tab for a $5-10 million audience doesn't make sense. Smart developers already get that, which is why they are switching over to the Wii for worldwide domination and Xbox 360 for a big share of the US market.

I like Devil May Cry. It was one of my favorite games for my two PS2's before they broke two weeks after I bought each of them.

Any chance of DMC 1, 2, and 3 coming to Nintendo's Virtual Console?! (Size aside... You can always get a bigger memory card or a USB hard drive!)

Compare the latest games in the series. So Chaos Theory and MGS3.

MGS 3 is a tighter stealth game, less action oriented and is far superior plot wise. I love the SC series but it's outclassed by MGS.

I think that were are forgetting about final fantasy and Square enix's commitment to the Playstation and Sony. Furthermore Devil May Cry is not a flagship title. It is outsold by Resident Evil and the Megaman series. Yet, having Devil May Cry on the Wii would be exciting and it would show Nintendo fans that Capcom is serious about their support of the Wii.

Higher sales don't make them better games...

DMC games are crap, i dont like none of them!! But im a huge huge fan of ONIMUSHA series!!! Smilie Id be over the moon if Capcom brough Onimusha to Wii!!! Smilie

I see all these people insulting the Nintendo corporation because of the lack of mature content. Yet there is something about Nintendo (at least their games) that strikes a certain unadulterated feeling of joy!!!  Pokemon Y - 1048-9263-5562

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

yeh, erm, speculation smeculation...

Well, this was at least half of the reason I was planning on getting a PS3, and even then I was having trouble justifying it. If DMC4 actually comes to the Revolution, I'm almost definitely not going to get a PS3. Maybe a 360 eventually if I need something else.

I loved Devil May Cry 3, that's the entire reason I bought a PS2.

"I think you beat MMORPG's once you convince yourself to stop playing them."

Very interesting...! Sounds like a good idea since I believe that Nintendo Wii will be more popular than PS3. But why couldnt they have decided that earlier so Dante and Vergil could be two new characters to SSBB!Smilie I have long thought that atleast Dante would be a perfect Super Smash fighter.

SmilieAwesome!! Devil May Cry 3 was freaking awesome!

WOHA!!
