Nintendo Wii News | Hudson Reveals Virtual Console Content

By Adam Riley 31.05.2006 16

Huson, the company behind Bomberman and Nintendo's MANY Mario Party games, has revealed its Japanese games line-up. Check them out below:

  • June 2006 - New Puzzle Title (NDS)
  • July 2006 - Bomberman Portable (PSP)
  • July 2006 - Bomberman Land (NDS)
  • July 2006 - Milon no Shizora Shabon: Puzzle Kumikyoku (NDS)
  • Summer 2006 - Bomberman: Act Zero (Xbox 360)
  • Winter 2006 - Momotarou Dentetsu 16 (PS2)
  • Winter 2006 - Bomberman Series (NDS)
  • Winter 2006 - Games for the Virtual Console System (Wii)
  • Winter 2006 - Games for Xbox Live Arcade (Xbox 360)
  • Winter 2006 - Games for the PS3 Network
  • So it would appear that just as Sega will not confirm whether its MegaDrive content will be exclusive to the Wii's VC, Hudson is also going multiplatform with its classics. Nonetheless, it has also been revealed that the following games will be the first three Virtual Console titles released on the Wii:

  • R-Type
  • New Adventure Island
  • Bonk's Adventure
  • Stick with Cubed3 for more soon...

R-Type... *swoon* I love you, Hudson!

I find your lack of faith disturbing!

2 Bomberman DS games within around 6 months of each other!? Are both of them going to be online or just one of them?

    R-Type...kick assius!

    R-type - more fuel for my new-found panzer-inflicted shooting game obsession.Smilie

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

    Whoop, R-Type!

Good stuff, nice list of releases this year and hopefully we'll get a few more classics for our Wiilis.

I hope they release some Bomberman on the Wii VC, or I could just buy the SNES games.

FUCK. So many memories of Super Bomberman!! I need that!! Smilie

Also, it's great to hear the DS is getting more Bomberman, I think Bomberman Land will be the new Online DS Bomberman game while the "Bomberman Series" may mean a collection of old Bomberman games? I sure hope so! Smilie

I'm really hoping that Bomberman Land is more of a Bomberman Tournament style game, Tournament was THE WAY for Bomberman to be in 1 player (also the music was awesome!!)

Ah... they can accomplish so much with Bomberman...

It's funny how Microsoft and Sony both blast Nintendo for their ideas. Sony called the Wii controller a gimmick and later tried to jump on the bandwagon. Microsoft executives, J. Allard and Peter Moore, stated that no one wanted to play classic games. Now they are also jumping on the bandwagon. This is evidence that Nintendo is heading in the right direction and that Microsoft and Sony both have no ideas for their platforms than to react to what the competition is doing. However, the good thing is that neither Microsoft nor Sony will be able to have access to Nintendo's classics. This is Nintendo's advantage along with the Wii's controller and whatever other secrets that Nintendo possess. It's looking more and more like the Wii is not going to be a second console after all. It's looking more and more like it will be the first console of choice.

Oh my goodness that is so true. Hey, I sure hope Microsoft and Sony don't get old SNES games made by Hudson, because that would be harsh on Wii fans...

They shouldnt be able to should they? If these products were originally licenced by Nintendo?

Hopefully not, no. Personally I've always considered Wii my first choice. I might get a PS3 and 360 after a few years once the price is reasonable, but I doubt I'll play either of thm much...
