    Nintendo Rumours | Star Wars Wii, PS3 Games Switch Sides & More!

    T[/size][/b]he latest issue of North America's multi-format gaming magazine, Electronic Gaming Monthly, is now available to buy and Cubed3 has the information from the publication's rumour column. Check out the ones that directly, or could indirectly relate to Nintendo, below:

  • A "Massively Multiplayer" Burnout is currently being planned by EA;
  • Third Party companies are shifting many of their projects from the PlayStation 3 to the Wii;
  • Harmonix is working on a new music game;
  • LucasArts is developing a Star Wars game for Nintendo's Wii, in which there are fights with a light sabre;
  • Star Wars Battlefront is being worked on for Next Generation consoles, yet Pandemic is not involved this time.

  • Make of those what you will, but a light sabre Star Wars game on the Wii was rumoured before E3, during E3 and now after E3. It makes too much sense for it not to happen. Also, could we see the return of Burnout to Nintendo this time? And what are your thoughts on Third Parties already shifting focus to the Wii?

    you could use the left-hand controller as Luke Skywalker uses his force!!! if oyu know what i mean!!! push your hand forward and make the enemy fly!!!

    I was thinking the exact same thing! Smilie

    And I really think some developers like being challenged by the Wii. I downloaded a teaser trailer for Sonic Wildfire(Wii), and in that trailer you could see sonic toying with the remote and then hear him say: Finally, something different Smilie

    I think in recent weeks the DS hardware has probably been surpassing PSP hardware in the UK and will continue to do so for a little bit after the (surprise?) successes of some DS games of late.

    I think it's fair to say some of the factors that made the DS such a success in Japan have yet to be added the UK and US equation;

    Nintendogs went down a storm, but we don't have the many "Training" games that Japan does, Brain Training has just been released however, and the DS Light is about to be released, so give it a month and then we'll see who is winning...

    THe amount of times I've heard the stupid excuse that the PSP is better than the DS because the DS looks crap... Well... It was only twice, but still, once the Lite gets here they'll have to shut the hell up ^^

    Clubhouse Game, Big Brain Academy, Electroplankton, nintendogs: Dalmatian & Friends, More Brain Training, Sudoku Gridmaster and English Training should all attract new DS gamers...so things should pick up more over in the West.

    LucasArts is developing a Star Wars game for Nintendo's Wii, in which there are fights with a light sabre;

    Smilie

    We all knew it was going to happen, but it's good to have confirmation. Definatley one of the best ideas for the Wiimote so far.

    It's like they made the Star Wars movies all those years ago, thinking: Maybe some day there will be a genius who invents something with which people can mimic a light saber at home, so we NEED to put this in the movie!*bzzzzzzm*

    Why not? I can't see there being anything holding back Wii from having an online Burnout.

    Sony buying rights to it in some waySmilie
