Nintendo DS Media | More DS Browser Images

With recent news confirming the release data for Opera's DS Browser in Japan, additional images showing the software in action have been grabbed by Japanese magazine, Famitsu.

Update:
Packaging art for the software comes in two different version for the original DS and Lite respectively. The main difference is the sizing of the memory expansion for the GBA slot, given the lite's GBA port is slightly smaller than the original.

The software looks fantastic running on a sexy white DS lite, and certainly has gotten web-surfers excited about the prospect of surfing on the go so easily and efficiently.

Opera DS hits Japan on July 24th.

Stick with C3 for further updates...

Looks totally awesome, I may just import it if there's confirmation of an English language option - it seems from these screens that English would be an alternative interface, and quite righly so given that a huge chunk of the internet is in the best language in the world!

If that plugin thing is littarly just ram it seems such a waste to me :-/
Mobile phone webbrowsers can fit into under 4MB or so, so if effort was put into a complete recodeing you could make a DS one without a am expansion needed at all.

But if they are going to have one they could have at least added more to it.
eg, SD card interface for downloading, or a small built in memory.

This would make the device much more usefull, because you could then download an ebook or a music file, and then listen later.

Can someone please tell me how it is to be used? i mean it would require that USB wi-fi thing right? attached to a normal computer.

Also i am wondering if it's possible to surf the internet on your computer as well as on ds at the same using the same connection?

Would be awesome Smilie

I'm guessing this only applies to those who have wireless routers and those who are using the USB connector (not confirmed, but more than likely).

Would work virtually anywhere I think - there are a lot of people who leave their wireless routers without a security key *ahem* so time to get borrowing

I notice they have removed Opera branding.
Shame, Opera is underated.

Looks amazing. Smilie

I was thinking about the C3 podcast... Would there be any way to listen to that on the DSL and then maybe it could run alongside a slide show of images of who is talking and what you're talking about etc. That would be ace. Smilie
Erm... yeh.

Nintendo have definitely got with right company in Opera. The classic slogan "Small Enough to Care, Big Enough to Cope". This looks brilliant and definitely better than trying to view web pages on your mobile phone. Opera is well known for being able to shrink web pages down to any size screen so this should be very easy to view any web pages.

Hopefully that expansion pack contains some form of non-volatile memory so that upgrades for web plug-ins like flash can be downloaded and stored.

I have Opera 9 on Beta, haven't grabbed the complete version yet. Opera is underated, I am disapointed that they removed the branding too.
