Nintendo can be heard on many gaming websites throughout the Internet. The company usually keeps their operations very much a secret from the public, only revealing what's necessary at the right time. Where the Wii is concerned, nothing solid has been revealed on the price nor release date.

French gaming website, Impact Virtuel is suggesting an October 2006 release date for Nintendo's upcoming console in Japan; sometime around the end of the month - 30th October.

Whilst the date seems viable enough, the source perhaps isn't the most reliable:

"For example, take a guy who is near Nintendo head office. Very near. Of course, for his own security, we won't reveal his name...

...We'll just call him Mr Jean-Claude Yakitori...

So, Jean-Claude Yakitori forgot that journalists have a huge skill of resisting alcohol, just because they practice a lot the press tours.

I ont really care much about release date rumours for the Wii. (unlike the way I was concerning the DS Lite). At the year's E3, in an interview with Matt Cassamcena, Perrin Kaplan stated that we will be playing Wii for the holidays so an October to Decmember launch is still on the cards. (Oh at the TGS and expect revamped graphics for some of the games that you saw at E3 Smilie. Nintendo isn't stupid and they know that although the Ps3 has been criticised for having a high price they have a hughe user base. Word on the street is that alongside Wii it is still the most hyped console anywhere. Nintendo would have to release their console first at an attractive price to convince die hard PS3 fans to purchase Wii at launch as against PS3 or at least to wait until the PS3 price drops for mainstream gamers to buy it thus raining on the PS3s launch parade. You know the what the Good thing is ? All the Nintendo bigwigs know this and Nintendo will do it....! So enough of launch rumours already.

I could see this happening. Wii was designed first and foremost for the Japanese market (small, compact size, low power consumption are important Japanese consumer values) and at least one Nintendo exec has said this. Of course, I think it will be just as popular in the rest of the world, but as long as they get it out before Thanksgiving in the US (and before Sony), they should be fine.

Did you know Xbox 360 will add $40 a month to your power bill? I can only imagine the PS3 bill.

I think just before PS3 is good, it means those looking to buy both may not be able to afford PS3 after getting their launch day Wii.

Even without sliming around on cubed3, I think your soruces or thoughts about the release date are something more profound then the one described here. I think they made something called 'Satire' here in Germany.

I think November 15 or something similar sounds possible. But I base it on our site and not on Jean-Claude...

    *lol*

Ok this is sad but I had a dream about the Wii last night, I went to buy one but they'd all sold out, what was interesting though was that the box pulled off the top rather than opening from the side - kind of like an iPod box. The top was also shaped so that it didn't cover up the word 'Wii' that was on the bottom box in the corner. It all looked well good, but enough about the packaging.

I expect it out before the PS3, but I expect this article is a load of shit.

P.S. I told someone I had a dream about Wii last night and they said that's how most of their wet dreams start too. Awkward!

Joystiq reported on a thing about power consumptio, the 360 costs around $20 a year to use for 2 hours every day - as far as I remember.

I can't wait to get stuck into Metroid Zelda and Wii Sports this bad boy can't come soon enough.

Mike Gee of iZINE said, "...The Verve, as he [Richard Ashcroft] promised, had become the greatest band in the world. Most of the critics agreed with him. Most paid due homage. The Verve were no longer the question mark or the cliché. They were the statement and the definition."

Sometimes less these days. If a game gets me though then I'll play for longer.
