Maybe not the best of weeks for Nintendo but still great. Look like the two new DS and PSP titles have done quite well glad to see Project Hacker get good sales.

PSP Tekken sales are terrible considering it is sucha big franchise certainly would have sold better on the DS, as always the DS rains supreme with the PSP doing meidorce and the 360 doing terrible.

............wait a minute where is Animal Crossing?

Mike Gee of iZINE said, "...The Verve, as he [Richard Ashcroft] promised, had become the greatest band in the world. Most of the critics agreed with him. Most paid due homage. The Verve were no longer the question mark or the clich. They were the statement and the definition."

All the talk about high definition graphics as the next thing in gaming but the PS2 continues beat the Xbox 360 in Japan and North America.

Mario sales are still pretty damn huge!
Animal Crossing is out of the top 10 though Smilie

1.) Nintendo DS Lite - 140,858
2.) PlayStation Portable - 35,283

That's ludicrous for a supposed "slow" week for the console.

True shows that the Xbox 360 hasn't really done that well at all and most Cubed3ers think it will the next gen no chance

*lol* PSP sells ...quite almost okay. Not as bad as I expected. But UMD are grounded heavily...
But LocoRocco is wonderful - hope some of you guys can play it... Shame it is not available for DS. But it vanished pretty soon from the charts. I thought that game would have been a killer-app for DS.

Naruto did go off pretty well. Hope it sells good.

I find your lack of faith disturbing!

Where's English Training as well?

The PSP is so owning this week with there 2 games in the charts the DS is doomed Smilie

Smilie GC not even on the list?!?! Smilie

NSMB might be second but 119.000 a week is shit loads!!
and the DSL is doing great!!!

I see all these people insulting the Nintendo corporation because of the lack of mature content. Yet there is something about Nintendo (at least their games) that strikes a certain unadulterated feeling of joy!!!  Pokemon Y - 1048-9263-5562

i'm just glad that project hacker did well i really want this game. and well at the end of the day ds is still doing well and it stands to reason that ps2 games would take some tops spots due to the amount of consoles they've sold. but the ds is still offering a challenge. they need a big title soon ish to push demand again. mario has done his job its time for ff to do its.

With leaked info. sometimes it doesn't include the GameCube and never includes the GBA [original] and the Xbox but never fear the GameCube will sell about 100 or copies less than the 360.

Yeap Nintendo don't seem one to dweel on new releases for the DS 4 big games are lauching in the next two weeks, 3 this week and 1 next week and my friends this doesn't include Pokemon or Final Fantasy.

These games go on sales on Thursday;
Kouchuu Ouja Mushi King: Greatest Champion e no Michi 2
Mario Hoops 3 on 3
Tamagotchi no Puchi Puchi Omisecchi Gohi-Kini

Starfox Command is due for release next thursday.

Mario Hoops should have very good sales if any of the Mario Sports predessors are to go by. Japan sales.
Mario Tennis GC GC Nintendo 457,000
Mario Tennis 64 N64 Nintendo 1,067,500
Mario Tennis Advance GBA Nintendo 164,000
Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour GC Nintendo 245,250
Mario Golf 64 N64 Nintendo 650,250
Super Mario Strikers GC Nintendo 188,750
Super Mario Baseball GC Nintendo 251,500

As you can see Starfox also has a nice track record to it's name.
Starfox Assault GC Nintendo 195,000
Starfox 64 N64 Nintendo 633,500

Mushiking some people describe as SEGA's pokemon
Mushi King GBA Sega 706,500
Mushi King: Greatest Champion DS DS Sega 193,750
Some people say that this shows that Nintendo has two different demographs with the GBA and DS.

And finally of course Tamagotchi the only third party million selling game on the DS.
Tamogotchi Connection: Corner Shop! DS Bandai 1,116,000

my work here is done enjoySmilie

here are the offical number
1 Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball 13 151906 (PS2) 151,906

9 Naruto 26518 (DS) 26,518
10 Animal Crossing: Wild World 25746 (DS) 2,937,042

I knew the Ds had to have more than 5 games in the top 10, thank god Animal Crossing didn't drop out, it's edging ever so closely to the 3m mark and at this pace mario could break the 3m mark soon as well, although shame to see english training drop out but i am sure it will bounce back again

Smilie

Thanks guys Smilie

I'm amazed at how strong the DS is at the moment and with Cooking Navi and the Noble Pink being released yesterday (20th July) chaos will ensue! Then there's Mushiking, Tamagotchi and Mario Basket NEXT week... Smilie

DS lite sells four times the PSP

...

DS lite sells 127 times the 360

...And whats this about animal crossing?
It's still in the top 10...

Xbox 10

DS lite sells 14000 times more than the Xbox

Japan sales figures are hardly a good measure of the 360s' success.

Great point "patjuan32". This is the so called HD Era. Its clear that graphics or visual presentation alone does not merit great gameplay. Over 6 month now since Xbox360 has been on sale... the "Wow" facter on graphics is long gone and whats left is gameplay and frankly I am not impressed.

Well you can hardly blame Microsoft...They are an American company at heart. They hardly have any games catering to the Jap crowd.

It isn't just that, apparently the advertising and general manner in which the 360 is presented in Japan is hideously out of place when compared to the big consoles.

No iwasn't saying that this measures MS succes in the games industry i am just stating that ity will be near impossible ot so call win or sell the most consoles if it struggles to sell 500k in Japan

wht's Brave story?

It is crazy to think that a guirky learn english title on a portable could outsell the massive Pro Evo franchise by over 400k

Saturo Iwatas San you are a genius

at least there movie tie ins don't clean up in the charts.

I remember MS were planning to relaunch it with new games and blue Xbox360 planned went down well, but they managed to overtake GameCube year sales, kudos on MS for excellent marketingSmilie

New Super Mario Bros is really holiding it's own against these new games in the charts. I haven't really been keeping up with the Japanese charts too much lately, the DS is going really well. Smilie

The DS lite is doing awfully. I mean, it is obviously totally doomed to the fate of the Virtual Boy. What a shoddy creation on Nintendo's part. Utterly disappointing.

*or not*Smilie
