Nintendo DS Media | Headset and Price Revealed

Japanese retail site HMV have revealed the recently announced official DS headset for talking to friends and communicating with games on the move.

    Why do you think this headset isn't in stereo? Just because there's only the mic earpiece pictured? Try looking at the image a bit more closely; now, count how many wires you can see coming out of the plug; next look how many wires are going into the earpiece. Can you see the problem with your assumption? A second wire would indicate there's another earpiece.

    I'm not, I'm just getting exasperated at everyone assuming it's a mono headset; just about every site that's posted news on the headset has assumed it's mono, because there's only the one earpiece shown. Taking a few seconds, to look at the image properly, shows there's a very strong possibility it is stereo capable.

    To me it looks like one cable is for the microphone, one for the mono headphone.

    I think the picture would show two headphones if that was the case- promo photos are carefully composed.

    I'm basing my assumption on the fact that most headsets that look like that are infact mono, plus the ear piece seems to have a shape to hang on one ear, it would look king of stupid to have a bud for the other ear or another one in the same shape except withought a mic. If it did have another speaker i would have assumed it would have had the headband shape and would be clearly visable.
    Plus the cable going into the speaker may only look like one because it's tilted sideways.
    Still there is a chance it's stereo chances are it's not though.

    I did notice that but why wuld they hide the other speaker in a promotion shot? Unless it coils out or somthin. If it's a seperate ear piece like that it's gonna be one of the shitest looking headsets ever.
    Anyway why are we making such a big deal of this so what if it's stereo my original point still stands as in it's quite a pointless piece of kit for the DS.

    Do the headphones actually have another side or is it just a left speaker? Looks pretty crap if that's the case

    I ll be getting that. It looks good, It looks comfortable (Instead of those annoying in ear ones) and its better than keep bending down your head to speak in the mic everytime.

    i think it's a great idea.. at least a good idea.. and the fact that it's not super expensive like we all would have thought is icing on the cake.. novelty factor plays a big part in the purchase though.. must admit
