Nintendo News | Halo Film Maker Erects Nintendo

By Jorge Ba-oh 29.07.2006 17

The makers of the upcoming Halo film, Weta Workshop, has erected a large tripod statue in Wellington with some interesting detail that resembles Nintendo hardware.

NZGamer managed to grab some stills of the monument, with the Nintendo devotion intact. Be sure to check out the source for additional photos.

The tripod has an N64 controller design on the side of each of the three legs and a smaller GameBoy on the back of each. Admiration for Nintendo doesn't come much better!

Why?

Brilliant

But Microsoft put a lot of money into this, and if Nintendo would suddenly ask them to do something for them or something I dunnowSmilie (haven't slept all night, never mind)

Just wait until after the clubs close and drunken fools are staggering home, passing that along the way. Then you'll see LOTS of Wii...

Anyway, nice story - I know in gaming terms it might not mean much, but it's not exactly positive press for Microsoft, is it? And that IS an important thing for Nintendo in the long run Smilie

Is there a higher resolution pic of that gameboy screen? Wanting to see whats on it. Looks like a cross.

wtf is it meant to be? Does anyone remember seeing that thing in the Halo games?

that's cool, I wonder if any of that detail will actually be seen in the film...

Edit -

The source said this -

There's something different on each Game Boy. We tried to take pictures of the one with New Zealand on it, but the lighting was bad because of where the sun was; so we settled for this one instead.
