With E3 2006 done and dusted, some of the surprises and key announcements still give gamers a tingle, one of which being the inclusion of Konami mascot Solid Snake in the upcoming Super Smash Bros: Brawl for Wii thanks to Snake's creator Hideo Kojima. But to what creative extent does the man have in the game?

According to gaming blog Kotaku, a recent edition of Nintendo Power states:

"If you want to talk about something big, how about the news Hideo Kojima, Snake's creator, is designing Snake's level in Brawl? Snake's inclusion means we're not only getting one of the best characters in gaming, but one of the best developers as well."

Certainly good news for fans of Metal Gear Solid!

    Stay tuned for updates.

You'd hope so! The more involved Kojima gets with Nintendo, the stronger the chance of an MGS iteration in the future...

its cool, it stands to reason that he should have input when it coes to his character and stage design.

i wouldn't hold your breath for MGS though. i'd like him to do ZOE 3 for the wii. it would work amazingly well. and i do love zoe.

also although i know it aint kojima id love to see a sequel to pno3 on the wii.

It's funny because Konami and Sony are closing than a gay couple and Kojima seems to prefer Nintendo.

Mike Gee of iZINE said, "...The Verve, as he [Richard Ashcroft] promised, had become the greatest band in the world. Most of the critics agreed with him. Most paid due homage. The Verve were no longer the question mark or the cliché. They were the statement and the definition."

This is fab news, and definitely makes things between Kojima and Nintendo sound better. I'm glad they're letting other developers in on the act and not trying to design stages for other companies' franchises themselves. Hopefully this means if Sonic gets included we might get somebody designing a Green Hill Zone for Smash Bros...

Snatcher remake is still rumoured. Smilie

Zone of the Enders will likely remain a Playstation exclusive franchise, Kojima's been talking about doing a PS3 or PSP version.

Did you read Kojima's post E3 interviews about the PS3 pad? He soudned pissed that a) He wasn't told of motion sensing and b) rumble is gone. I wouldn't be surprised if Kojima spread himself around this gen.

I hope he doesn't "spread himself too thin" this/next gen (i.e. I hope he doesn't bother with the 360)

The last thing we need is MGS4 for PS3, MGS4: _insertsubtitlehere_ for the 360 and then some second rate MGS2 port for Wii. Hey, Kojima might just have some gems set out for DS though, with Lunar Knight already looking pretty swish. Smilie

Please god no i don't want Sonic near a Nintendo game but i fear he will be thereSmilie.

I heard Kojima wasn't to happy about the controller but he still nearly always makes games only for the Playstation brand, the odd one of for Nintendo and none for MS.

I wonder if his level will have FMV played at random points throughout a fight?

Good to see the relationship being strong.

However, it's probably because he likes the game/franchise idea and wanted his character to be part of it, not settling for a poor level design or anything.

Kojima was never entirely Sony. He did (As producer or other) Boktai for GBA and helps Brawl for Wii. He did Twin Snakes for GCN.

And he grows tired of Snake. He wants to do something other than that!
The whole MGS-shite branding over PS2 and PSP is maybe the work of the Publisher or copyright-holder of MGS, don't you think?
I find your lack of faith disturbing!

Maybe it'll have a camera angle that would be great for a film, but makes playing the game a nightmare.

I'd think so, he keeps saying.

"This WILL be the last MGS"

Then the next one is announced, hell don't his studios have some kidn of connection with Foxhound?
