Nintendo Wii Media | Sonic Wild Fire

Sega have released a selection of screenshots from the upcoming solo Sonic project, Wild Fire. The blazing speed wonder returns in a Wii exclusive telling a story of the Arabian Nights.

Sonic's adventure tells the tale of the nights, however with pages of the book missing Sonic sets out to recreate the story in expansive and highly detailed environments reminiscent of some of the classic Sonic designs. The hero takes on new tricks, moves and an all new Wii exclusive control scheme as illustrated in the latest selection of screenshots.

Players use the controller, holding it horizontally to tilt the hedgehog in different paths to attack, dodge and avoid enemies. The controller is also used to attack with the flick of a wrist for aerial and ground moves. Sega are also developing a series of mini-games to compliment the controller, including multiplayer with friends.

Sonic Wild Fire hits retail in 2007.

Looking pretty damn sweet - can't wait to play this, although the control scheme does sound a bit weird to get to grips with!

It does sound quite fun, but I still want to see some positive reviews before I buy this.

I want even more now!! I saw the videos at IGN and it looks freaking brilliant. And most of the websites that played it said it's the best 3D Sonic game they've played!!!Smilie

The colors itself do like great. Technically, I don't think it's breath taking, but the colors of the sky and water are all pretty Smilie

And the real liner play sounds good. I definately have more faith in this than Sonic on the Xbox 360 and PS3.

i'm just amazed that a game that moves so fast can look so good when stopped and screenshot taken. i mean they aint showing us anything really new in these shots but hey who cares. the controls are simple and it will play more like 2d sonic than the crap adventures or shadow games. i really do want this but i wish that it was a launch game or atleast before xmas. ah well i'll have it for my bday nexy year instead.
