trying to be optismtic about this game but it looks so dull and visually terrible

So long as the graphics are on par with lylat wars there shouldn't be too much to worry about....I hope.

Woa those homing missiles, such memories of Area 6, and it still has the same tuneSmilie

It seems like a hybrid of starwing styled graphics with the lylat wars gameplay, looking forward to it!

You might wanna delete one of those replies. Smilie

Yeah, um, it does look a little bit bland, but its not about the graphics, its about the gameplay. Or, at least, thats what I learned at my NBWC (NintendoBrainWashingClass). It is sure to be really good fun online as well.

Its looks deadly, only thing I don't like is that its not on-the-rails.

Well, actually(at least I thought so) it IS on rails, but you have to draw your own routeSmilie

"Ha - take that", looks like there wont be any voice acting, thats a shame.
I dont think it looks all that fun. It doesnt flow like the N64 game.

Have to say I agree with you there. The only thing that would really appeal to me would be the WFC but still it'd have to be really something special

I'm still longing for a Star Fox game as good as Lylat Wars. It was such a great game.

This looks... different. They also kept those awful explosions and they have it Free-Range mode only.

Let's hope for a Wii version that plays like and is as good as Lylat Wars. Just pick up a remote and imagine the Arwing flying directly to your hand movements!

Why are people saying this game looks terrible? It looks quite good to me, not Hunters good but one of the better loking games ive seen.

I agree. I think the graphics are very nice. It always looks much better playing it in person, anyway. People need to relax.

The clip shown here is different from the ones I've seen before. The ones I've seen all had voice acting.

Smilie Yikes.

Chance favors the prepared mind.

It's not going to be bad bad, just it's alright online. The control and handling looks alright.. but hell, Lylat Wars was precision, Starfox Adventures had the style and then Assault (on my eyes) killed the controls. Why?! It wasn't broken you morons!

Moving on, I'm not expecting the sound to be amazing (especially after Hunters, but that sounds better with headphones) but at least the Lylat gabble from Starwing - I won't be able to handle the annoying 'Ha! Take that!' everytime I press the A button firing 3 shots at a fragile ship blowing it to bits.

Some screens look nice... ish, but like people have said, free-range mode constantly is a bit too Rogue Squadron = slow. Rogue Squadron made up for that however with AI and attention to detail so you never really noticed, but Starfox throws numbers and 'in your face! Shoot it! Shoot it NOW!' at you to make it work - which was alright in the tight levels where you did have to dogfight in a small area, but that was it.

Anyway, if the wi-fi is competitive and fairly engaging, I'll probably get it for that.

GRRR, so true, the voice acting needs to be there in some shape or form (I thought Lylat gabble was hilarious as a kid when I first played starwing- bleh bleh bleh bluh bluh bluh - stay in formation!)

Piiiiii...ka.....SUEEEEEEE!

i think it looks good. its nice to have a strategy eliment and it will hopefully add something new to the game and thankfully no on foo rubbish. but is there tank and submarines. i love those bits.

Hope so, not too fond on Aquas but Macbeth FTWSmilie

That whole level seems very wrong when I look back at it.

Especially when he says he's finishing it Smilie

That looks almost exactly the same as Starfox 2. No voice acting Smilie that was my favourite part of the Starfox games.

SmilieWhat? What?!Smilie I've always loved StarFox. One of the most venerable IPs Nintendo has, IMHO.

Aquas and MacBeth were two of my favorite levels in Lylat Wars.

Chance favors the prepared mind.

I thought there were some on-rails levels and some not... It'll probably end up being like SF:A where all the on-rails bits are decent and the rest is shite...
