Nintendo Media | BWii Info (Wii)

By John Boyle 23.08.2006 32

Only Batallion Wars could make cartoon war fun, despite worrying previews the original was hailed as an extremely fun game and Nintendo must've been listening as the sequel is heading to Wii chock-full of game modes. But what should we be expecting with this newest entry to the Wii catalogue? Well:

  • Assault, skirmish and co-op modes playable through the WiFi Connection.

  • Land, sea and air combat with five new naval units and the ability to respawn units by capturing enemy buildings.

  • More than twenty single player missions and over fifteen multiplayer missions.

  • Six different races waging war across five environments.

All sounding good so far, we hope to have some screens for you as soon as possible.

Stick with C3 for all your Leipzig news.

  • Box art for Battalion Wars 2

Co-Op! Woo! I was worried they'd forget that.

Destructible terrain now please. I neead crators and flying earth as a backdrop to my assured online dominance.

    You lot are going down!

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

People, prepare for an ass-whooping. I am the king of BW and I don't see why BWii will be any different.

Seems a great deal more RTS than it'd predecessor. Swish!

Yeah there are buildings and all. I just hope it'll work on p2p.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

It looks identical to the gc version. I need an injection of nintendo news. I sucked at advance wars so i doubt i'll be any good. So i will die for you all with ease. lol.

    It's nothing like Advance Wars...

It's like a cross between Metal Arms and Red Alert...sort of.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

    and Pikmn.

    But with TANKS&PLANES&NOW BOATS&SHIT!

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

I'll still suck but i may give a little fight and die then go away. We'll see. I'll wait for you guys to tell me it is worth it first.

Awesome stuff, I skipped the Cube version but will definately be keeping an eye out for this now. Smilie

Just updated this with screens/logo, doesn't look *too* bad, but does need a bit of work imo.

I don't see anything wrong with the logo, it is a bit chunky though

Graphics don't look like much of an improvement. But multiplayer sounds like fun.

What's skirmish? Is that a multiplayer versus mode?

Coop and online mode sold for me as for the logo i like it especially with the ii simplising the Wii and the second iteration

I hate the whole BWii thing. I could cope if it was just used familiarly like REmake, but as the ACTUAL TITLE it's just tacky and rubbish.

Been playing Battalion Wars recently, just got to the Xylvanian territories. Good game but it really needed a multiplayer mode. Nice to see it's included for the sequel.

This was a great game which only lacked multiplayer, now that that's fixed this good be the ultimate tacticle and heated war game.

I'd like to see the control in action with the WiiMote though. Except for the fact that if you micromanaged one type of units, you had to do it with the rest, I found the controls on the Cube very fluid and easy to adapt to.

Oh hell yes...this is what I am talking about!

Well they are the first Nintendo games shown with WiFi functions, will all depend how complete they are. So far we've heard nothing of launch dates.
