Only Batallion Wars could make cartoon war fun, despite worrying previews the original was hailed as an extremely fun game and Nintendo must've been listening as the sequel is heading to Wii chock-full of game modes. But what should we be expecting with this newest entry to the Wii catalogue? Well:
- Assault, skirmish and co-op modes playable through the WiFi Connection.
- Land, sea and air combat with five new naval units and the ability to respawn units by capturing enemy buildings.
- More than twenty single player missions and over fifteen multiplayer missions.
- Six different races waging war across five environments.
All sounding good so far, we hope to have some screens for you as soon as possible.

It looks good I'll give it that...But I didn't play the first one so I have no idea if the series is actually any good.

Very happy they've announced this, the first game was superb and a gem in the murky seas of the Gamecube catalogue. For those who keep posting saying they've never played the first, two things: take our word for it that it's ace, and secondly, why the heck not? You should be able to get it fairly cheap by now, go and buy one of the last decent Gamecube games (and one of the better ones throughout its whole lifespan).
I'm glad they've put in multiplayer this time, should lead to it having much more replayability than the original. Seems like a decent amount of attention is being put into it as well. Visually it looks worse than the GC original to be honest, so I think we should accept it as being early on in development. I don't expect it to be coming out before the end of next year.
I also don't like the BWii thing, it looks cheap and tacky and sounds stupid as heck. Could they not have just called it Battalion Wars 2 full stop and left it?

I just realised earlier that I hadn't actually completed the last level yet... So I went in and did it (Failed the first time, but I managed to get it done the second) and then just as the aftermath of the whole thing is about to start my Gamecube makes that horrible cracking sound it makes just before you get an error... And yes... Just as I expected
An error has occurred. Please turn off the console etc...
... I refuse to do it again >.<
On a side note: Whoa... Kuju... What the hell is with the crappy Gamecube screenshot!?

Excellent! Battalion Wars was so damn good. BWii is looking to trounce it in a BIG way. We're also finally getting multiplayer modes, online to boot, Assault, skirmish and co-op modes. Oh thank you Lord! I was hoping we'd get co-op. Fantastic.
There's definately an improvement with graphics for BWii. It's not very big, yet. The game is still in early development, afterall.
I personally like the new logo. It's stylish, clever and it gets your attention.
