The joys of game conferences, so many new games unveiled and Konami today added five to the growing list of titles currently emitting from Leipzig, and all are set to hit the Nintendo DS. But what games are they and what do we know about them? Well read on:

  • Winx Club: The Quest for the Codex

Winx is an Italian made cartoon dealing with a group of females, and pixies who use magic. The DS game will be a horizontally-scrolling flying game where you'll need to use the touch screen to change characters and blast away objects...and enemies. It will also be mini-game laden and make use of the local wireless connection to trade items and clothes.

  • Steel Horizon

Described as a "naval epic" this game sees you embroiled in some of the most frantic battles of World War 2 (but the plot in itself is fictitious) and makes use of real time strategy and turn based strategy elements. The game features twenty missions as well as optional side missions and multiplayer modes. Konami are aiming to ship this for Christmas 2006.

  • Marvel Trading Card Game

Based on the real life card game this gives gamers the chance to collect 800 cards as you play through the comic book styled plot battling in the familiar manner. Local wireless multiplayer and WiFi connection battles are also supported, but the cross platform battling of the PSP/PC versions are not available for the DS. Konami are also planning official tournaments online for this game.

  • Lost in Blue 2

Exclusive to the DS, Lost in Blue 2 is aiming to make even more use of the touch screen for the various daily tasks our marooned heroes have to undertake. New features such as nature and battling animals have also been introduced and is due to be released early 2007.

  • My Frogger Toy Trials

Frogger is 25! And to celebrate Konami are releasing My Frogger Toy Trials for the DS. The game follows Frogger and Hero as they aim to win a somewhat bizarre competition organised by a toy company. They do this through a series of mini games which make extensive use of the DS touch screen and mic.

And that's it from Konami regarding the DS. Check out the Elebits trailer posted up earlier and stick with C3 for all your Leipzig news.

Lots of support from namco, sega and even Konami for Nintendo platforms, where art thou CAPCOM

Mike Gee of iZINE said, "...The Verve, as he [Richard Ashcroft] promised, had become the greatest band in the world. Most of the critics agreed with him. Most paid due homage. The Verve were no longer the question mark or the cliché. They were the statement and the definition."

Hopefully, Caqcom is making a port of Resident Evil 2 for the DS with new features. They should. It's what we all expected to see in Resident Evil 2 for the Gamecube. Instead we recieved a ps1 port complete with ps1 graphics at the retail price of 39.99.

Capcom owes us big time. The only Exclusive titles that the GameCube recieved were PN03 and
    Resident Evil 0.

Was reading GameCentral the other day it commented on Miyamoto talking about the Wii recieivng CUBE remakes and he hopes third parties will follow and they suggested Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition and it got me thinking about the Resident Evil series as a whole and the Wii

it would be brilliant if the Wii got RE4 with the PS2 features with enchanced graphics like it needs it and maybe with an online mode and multiplayer modes, or even grapihcal overhauls for RE2 and RE3 like they did with the original Resident Evil maybe bundled or even DS ports.

C'mon CAPCOM you missed the boat with the DS big style on 3 good games REDS, VJDS, Pheonix Wright ok th e ladder was brilliant but 3 games that shit in comaprison with it being the CUBE's best and most supportive third party, they have only confirmed REWii and DMC4 for the Wii ok 2 great games but i want more from CAPCOM

    Hah! I like that...REmake...Hah!

    (I'm a bit hyped today)

Oh, and on topic, its good to see that Konami is using the WFC for both Pro Evo and now this Marvel game. Its a pity we couldn't play with PSP and PC dudes though. Ah well.

Yeah, Capcom really shafted GameCube owners with their "GameCube exclusives" (among many other 3rd parties). Where's all the Capcom love for DS and Wii? They've only got a few games announced so far.
