Nintendo News | Black and Pink DS Lites Confirmed for US

With the DS being a huge success around the globe, Nintendo have decided to bring out a range of different colours to various regions. However, with demand for these being very high the company have broken colour exclusivity within regions to bring both the Pink and Black DS Lites to America.
The company confirmed the news through the official Nintendo press vault this morning, that the two extra DS Lite colours, Onyx Black and Coral Pink are set to join the single white colour in the US from September 13th 2006.
"Not only are the DS Lite screen and battery life incredible, but the new colors just add another element of fun, allowing people to 'personalize' who they are by the color, or colors they pick."
George Harrison, Nintendo of America's senior vice president of marketing and corporate communications.
Accompanying the press release are some sexy promotional shots to wet your appetite.

Hehe, Nintendo HAD to do it - with the black one at least! Good stuff to see all these colours hit Europe and the US too! DS sales will soar!

Indeed, the Black had to come soon, but it is good to see they haven't forget about the girls, or deranged males like Kin.
These new colors will hopefully send the sales through the roof!

See, its things like this that make me not buy the device as soon as it comes out. I knew from reading the news that Japan would have different colors to choose from so I decided not to get the white DSL and wait for the colors.
They should have had 3-4 colors at the DSL launch worldwide. I know people will say that its a marketing scheme, but I say if it causes people like me to wait a few months after launch to buy, then how is that a good strategy? I'm very curious.
NOTE: japan STILL has 2 more colors that no one else has; pastel blue and navy blue. WHY???? They're still selling like hot-cakes everywhere else so why not!?

The Pink one is utter sex.
Good to see that the Americas and Europe both will have 3 DSlite colours before the Christmas sales ruch thought personally getting the Pink DSlite out here first would have been better due to the PinkDS selling like hotcakes along with Nintendogs bundle.
Hopefully we will get the two blue versions of the DSlite the Japanese have had since the DSlite launch, though still waiting wishing for a gold triforce DSlite along with Phantom Hourglass *drools at the prospect*
