Nintendo News | No Burnout For Wii

By Jorge Ba-oh 29.08.2006 19

Quick News: Contrary to a previous rumour of Burnout hitting the Wii, it seems that the next installment of the series, Burnout 5, will be "a complete reinvention...built from the ground up for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360", according to EA's press release today.

Whether Burnout will appear in other forms is unknown, but for now it's safer driving for Nintendo's Wii. Stay tuned for updates.

Dissapointing.

Indeed, very, very dissapointing. I think it seems developers really are in two states of mind whether they'll bring their content to the Wii. I reckon after a while on the market the Wii will receive Burnout treatment, even if a little late.

Still, annoying. I haven't played Burnout since B3 on the PS2, and only played that for about an hour.

1 less lazy downgrade, I'm relieved.

It's going to be shit and you jolly well know it.

yeah. Graphics are not that good, CPU is to slow, memory too low, so Wii gets no X and gets no Y and no this and no that!
So nothings changes.

They did it with PS2 - she was veeeery poor in technology and got all the cross-platform-versions. Wii won't get them. Because Wii is no next gen.
That's so untrue. Bastards!

But I am not hot for Burnout, I'll never play it. If they're doing it from scratch, it will be another Need For Speed or Flatout2 - but nothing special. So SegaHund is right.

I find your lack of faith disturbing!

Id rather have EA give the wii burnout than need for speed though.

Most of the Devs are just going by the "who's most popular this gen" with their games.

Isn't this just confirming the Wii won't get the same game as the 360 and PS3 version, if it does get one?

No need to panic, yet. Smilie

bring burnout wii ea or die..

You have to remember that Criterion is a big fan of Nintendo and since EA is currently announcing games for next-gen, then following with a separate Wii announcement, I'm not too worried Smilie

Smilie Like they have done with NASCAR...and Rugby...for the GC Smilie

Great....greatly dissapointing!!Smilie

Silence is the loudest noise we could possibly hear.

Let me guess, it's the 'ol "online centric" excuse they used for the Cube getting no BO3 and up, right? Fine, but when Nintendo is ready on their online department, the next Burnout better be there for the Wii.

Damn...Ah well...Here I was thinking they would want to squezze out every bit of money they could...

The Wii will not be the GameCube, Dojo99

NASCAR is only popular in America and those sorts of games never seemed to go down very well on the Cube anyway. It's the same with Rugby, and I can understand EA not releasing those two.

But Burnout Wii, people would LOVE that. Smilie

Jesus Christ! I dont think I take anymore of EA'a bullsh*t. Why!? is the question! Why are EA not bringing it to the Wii I'd much rather have Burnout than the worst racer on the planet Need For Speed.

One Message to EA, Get your bloody ass up off your lazy seats and start making decent and more games for the Nintendo Wii.

You can expect to have an 'innovative' new controller, and all the games the x360 and ps3 are getting.
